I just signed to Salon out of habit. I noticed that they haven't even invested the time to change the cover in 10 days.

How can I get an editors job where I don't have to pick one piece of writing in two weeks?

Senator Feinstein vs Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke and your government

Posted on January 29, 2013 at 11:30pm 3 Comments

The liberal assault on weapons has gotten out of hand. The old, tired, phrase of “we have to protect the children” has allowed people to claim they can do anything they want because, “it's for the children”. No matter how loud the cry is, and how much you feel the government should step in and “do something”, how much is to much?

When a shooting, or other problem, rears it's ugly…

Guns - history, bans, and hypocrisy

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 1:49am 7 Comments

Well the truth about gun registration has finally been unveiled. Gun supporters have long claimed that the left wants to ban all guns, and that letting the government know where the guns are is the first step in confiscation of guns.

If we look back in history to terror that the NAZI's brought on Germany and the world we see that they didn't directly go after guns, to start with. In fact in Germany in the late 30's when Hitler came into…

 UPDATE:

Zurie went to her new forever home.  Her sister Enchanted went to a great home in VA.  The family so loved her that one of their married daughters called and wanted ZuZu.  Both cats are now in homes that I personally know and know that they will have the great…

Welcome!

With any new site, we understand that finding your way around can be a bit daunting. To help you use our site, we have a few resources and tips, all of which can be found on pages under the ABOUT tab in your top menu bar. They are:

FAQ- here you can find some quick answers to general questions, questions about privacy and about site features.

Site News, Tips & Tricks - this is our forum where you can find tips on using the site, news about site changes and other information from the staff and other members.

Our Terms Of Service and Our Copyright Policy can also be found under the ABOUT tab.

You may also find additional help by going to chat and asking another member. Chat can be found in 2 place: There is a CHAT link in your top menu which will open chat in your browser.

The other option for opening chat is to use the small tabs at the bottom of most pages. The tab named "Opium Den" (our chat name) will open the in a small pop up window at the bottom of the screen. This window can also be resized or 'popped-out' and used as a separate window.

There is a "Members Online" tab on the bottom of your page too. This will show which other members are logged in (logged in does not mean they are active in the chat, simply they are logged in to the site). There is a small speaker icon which will allow you to adjust the chat beeps which many prefer to turn off or down when not actively chatting.

We have many excellent features and tools here. While it may seem overwhelming at first, the basics of posting and commenting are simple and before too long we hope you will feel comfortable and at home.

Bang around, explore, write, comment and most of all have fun!
