It's a miracle this dress made it to the stage in decent condition with all the  packing, unpacking, re-packing and moving about in the pouring rain. What a whirlwind!

So, it's back to my "regular" job (that's an entirely different post) today after quite the…

Turning the page: A new life in Tokyo

Posted on October 8, 2012 at 6:39am 19 Comments

A few weeks ago, I essentially ran away from home...sort of. Though everyone on my side of the family thought it was a great idea; an excellent opportunity for me to perform and teach in Tokyo, leaving my husband did not go over so well with his folks. To them I am the cold-blooded heartbreaker who left their brother/friend (17 years my senior) alone after a 10-year…

THAT was soooo entertaining Bluestocking babe (and I LOVE your name!). congratulations to you on taking such a big leap of faith! and you look BEAUTIFUL! your smile is contagious. What type of music do you sing? I know the Japanese love jazz. I had a piano player friend that I worked with who put out a few CD's and Japanese groupies used to come to NYC to see him play. They worshiped him and no one here knows who he is. You traveling to Japan is such a great thing for your daughter to witness. Once impressive.  With no garbage bins are the streets relatively clean? Still smiling about size 7 being the largest they have. And the cab doors ... that crazy!

With any new site, we understand that finding your way around can be a bit daunting. To help you use our site, we have a few resources and tips, all of which can be found on pages under the ABOUT tab in your top menu bar. They are:

FAQ - here you can find some quick answers to general questions, questions about privacy and about site features.

Site News, Tips & Tricks- this is our forum where you can find tips on using the site, news about site changes and other information from the staff and other members.

Our Terms Of Service      and     Our Copyright Policy can also be found under the ABOUTtab.

You may also find additional help by going to chat and asking another member. Chat can be found in 2 place: There is a CHAT link in your top menu which will open chat in your browser.

The other option is to use the small tabs at the bottom of most pages. The tab named "Opium Den" (our chat name) will open the chat in a small pop up window at the bottom of the screen. This window can also be 'popped-out' and used as a separate window.

There is also a "Members Online" tab. This will show which other members are logged in(logged in does not mean they are active in the chat, simply they are logged in to the site). There is a small speaker icon which will allow you to adjust the chat beeps which many prefer to turn off or down when not actively chatting.

We have many excellent features and tools here. While it may seem overwhelming at first, the basics of posting and commenting are simple and before too long we hope you will feel comfortable and at home.
