JMAC 1949, thx for the friending :-). I read yer posts, too, but get back here too rarely and too briefly to do much commenting just at the moment. But, every once in a while i get my groove on and interact.
Jmac, having trouble adding a comment to the eulogy for your Mom. Bottom line is that nothing is wrong. I think that James Emm had some good advice. The only thing I would say, is to shorten a bit. For example:
She was good at everything...as a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother etc. You needed keep using good. My grandfather who was an editor, said cut out every other word and see what you've got. But do read it out loud. If you stumble over a phrase. Kick it out.
And caring about others first is really a admirable trait. I believe there is a lesson in the Talmud about taking care of those in your charge before yourself. On the other hand if we are not for ourselves, who will be?
These things must come from the heart. Anecdotes and little stories are appropriate. Your mother loved you. And she knows that you are doing your best.
