I do not have xenophobia.  Actually the idea of change with strangers milling about and new ideas excites me.  I have made a point of getting away from the 1950's xenophobia because it was suffocating me.  I was a good Hippy chick and went my own way around the world, hitchhiking through areas that are now war zones.  I loved it all.

I saw poverty in India and Indonesia that was wasting people to mere skeletons who sat in their doorways as if in a fog. Trying to help seemed like a drop in the bucket of human misery but I have done my part.  Xenophobia is fear of the new and strange.  The Trumpers have it bad.  They don't want that scary world to come to their doorstep.

Let the world in.  That is what makes the far right shiver and quake. To think of their perfect little world collapsing drives them crazy.  When I was part of the hippy movement of the sixties it felt so good to be released from that cage.  I flew and am still flying. Im not going to let fear of what Trump will do sour my days. The Blue Tide will be back and stronger than ever.

We'll see. We'll find out how bad it will be in due time.

The problem with 18 -25 year old voters is not who they vote for or how they vote on issues, but how many of them choose to vote at all.  Obama brought them to the polls, so did Bernie.  HRC pushed them away.  The outcome of any elect is almost never the fault of voters, rather it is due to the personalities and/or incompetence of the candidates.

@FM; "...consider this is a new time, a new beginning, and we don't know if this is bad or good..."

At the age of 70 , I don't see anything new or strange in racism and/or the purveyors of it., regardless of the updates in the packaging.

What is new and strange is that an inexperienced, unqualified racist, bigoted, xenophobic, sexual predator can get elected president of the United States.

There is absolutely no way under the sun, or any other heavenly body,  that a black man who exhibited any of these qualities would be considered  by white Americans to be eligible for anything other than arrest and incarceration.

Keep on engaging in your exercise of white privilege and denial.

You'll wake up one morning with a New Hitler. Maybe you'll find that exciting and worth exploring. I'm sure that many of the German population of the 1930's must have felt then exactly as you do now.

And we all know what that led to. ..

Ask  Wolfman and Koshersalaami for details...

We haven't had an avid racist in the White House since the beginning of the 20th century.

This backlash, revulsion, and repudiation isn't going to be limited to a renewal of  attacking and scapegoating people of color.

Roe v Wade may well be overturned with a Trump nominee on the bench.

Citizens United will be strengthened and extended.

Gun violence and deaths will increase as gun control becomes less viable as an option to a President who embraced and all but encouraged gun violence aagainst his opponent as an element of his campaign.

And finally:

You, of all people , seeing anything at all meritorious or worthy in a money grubbing,, pussy groping, sexual predator, who passes judgment on women on the most superficial of criteria, are not being open minded and tolerant.

You are being disingenuous and hypocritical and subject to being summarily dismissed.

Tough love.

We have to admit certain things about the fundamentals of history.  Some things need to go away and the far right and far left show us the underbelly that needs to be split.

The turmoil is dangerous for us all.  It was a white power, xenophobic, hateful move.  I hope Trump will ignore the right now.  He used them to get what he wanted.  Now he wants to be unshackled to do what he wants.  The power must be so intoxicating!!!!!

It was fascinating to hear about the visits to the white house today.  Life goes on.  Im thinking of the ladies talking it all over in that great house.  wow.

I am also thinking about Trump's little ten year old boy.  Wow   Wow   just wow.

reports of violence are seeping in.   Hawaii is a relatively safe place to hide from trumpers but the ancient feuds are here and massive drug use.   No place is safe.

I put on facebook that the right thinks nationally and I think globally.  Maybe they can both be ok and work together.

May you live in interesting times....who said that?
