I do not have xenophobia. Actually the idea of change with strangers milling about and new ideas excites me. I have made a point of getting away from the 1950's xenophobia because it was suffocating me. I was a good Hippy chick and went my own way around the world, hitchhiking through areas that are now war zones. I loved it all.
I saw poverty in India and Indonesia that was wasting people to mere skeletons who sat in their doorways as if in a fog. Trying to help seemed like a drop in the bucket of human misery but I have done my part. Xenophobia is fear of the new and strange. The Trumpers have it bad. They don't want that scary world to come to their doorstep.
Let the world in. That is what makes the far right shiver and quake. To think of their perfect little world collapsing drives them crazy. When I was part of the hippy movement of the sixties it felt so good to be released from that cage. I flew and am still flying. Im not going to let fear of what Trump will do sour my days. The Blue Tide will be back and stronger than ever.
