Wine Country Wildfires (Retrospective of a Community In Crisis)

For the rest of the world to truly understand what we are going through, I offer this photographic retrospective. It’s impossible to find adequate words to express the loss and anguish I am experiencing during the Wine Country Wildfires, as I witness the destruction of my home, Santa Rosa and Valley of the Moon.

I wouldn't be able to describe it either Robert.

I've been there. It is, or was, gorgeous.

California is heaven on earth. We left because my family is here, the grandchildren are here but always we dreamed of going back.

This is heartbreaking. I wish I could offer something positive. All I can think of is to please stay safe.

Gorgeous photos - such a beautiful area. Is any of it un-scorched today?

Sorry to read your home didn't make it. So sorry, Robert.

My home is safe for now. Thanks to courageous first responders who risked their lives to save our homes. The danger is not over.

Thanks for letting us know - I wondered if you meant your personal home or Santa Rosa home in your post.

No, it's not over, not by a long shot. The fires up here are still going, too, although we've gotten more rain in Oregon than you guys have down there.... and they are much more remote now even if steadily inching toward more towns.

fingers crossed for you and yours.
