Why Trump Must Lose by a Landslide Margin

Hillary, and her supporters, should take nothing for granted.

There are no guarantees in prime time,  high stakes, electoral politics.

They underestimated Obama. She should not make that mistake again.

This is not as much about taking the measure of Trump, as it is about understanding how truly deep the vein of racism and bigotry runs through the population of this country.

With all of the gaffs, insults, lies, misstatements, misrepresentations, and missteps, Trump is still within the polling  margin of error.

He should be so far out of the electoral picture that no amount of adjustment, correction, tweeking, or rethinking could salvage his candidacy.

Hillary Clinton should be running virtually unopposed.  Yet some polls have them virtually tied in some of the swing states.

It's not just  that Hillary's favorable ratings are poor. Trump’s favorable ratings are far worse.

It's that racism in this country 'trumps' all else..

As long as Trump continues to posture and position himself as the 'great white hope' of the working class white American, who will fight to "take their country back", and "Make America great again",  he seems to be able to remain within striking distance of a victory that we can I'll afford to endure.

He can't blow the dog whistle any louder .

This  is what Trump and his handlers believe the sound  of the dog  whistle looks like to those who hear it :

There should be little doubt as to why and how Trump is able to incite the people who attend his 'campaign rallies.

It's the very reason why  people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and others are saying that Trump must be beaten by a landslide.

@SBA; Some, not all, of my comments end up being mini posts that have some stand alone value.

You may do what you wish but I find that double posting in this fashion helps to get my points across.

Thanks for sharing your own thoughts and insights.

And, double thanks for refraining from the  vile, and obscene language.

@SBA; Not in the least. Some snd PMS to boost readership. Others repost comments with editorial revisions that take the original thought to a different place or another level.

I choose to simply republish certain comments as stand alone posts.

If Trump doesn't go down in a landslide this country could face civil war.  I dont think any of us have an idea of how bad it can get.  We will be facing many brutal situations in the next four years and in a crisis I would take Hillary over Donald.  China is bugging the Philipines and Japan by air and water.  Europe is a mess and Russia is rising again.  ISIS is planting the fear.  The fear is real.

On fb we have been talking about the trade deals Trump is so down on.  Should America become more isolationist?  Maybe it is time to shut the door.  Even liberals are saying the trade deals are no good but I happen to trust Obama.  If Hillary will be the one to further his work then so be it.  I am confused about all the talk of the TPP.  Both far liberals and the right seem against it but for different reasons.  The country needs to figure out our place in the world.  A landslide vote would help.

@Z; Agreed...Well stated.

TPP may be right on trade but it's wrong on allowing companies to sue governments over policies that stand in the way of their profits even for environmental reasons, meaning companies can essentially overrule environmental law.

In terms of repurposing comments to posts, there was a time when probably two thirds of Token's posts were repurposed comments. Personally, when I repurpose comments into posts, the posts are generally more edited and more elaborate because I add stuff.

Trump's propensity for putting his foot in his mouth and lying his ass off pretty much guarantees his collapse in November.
