Caution: Writers at play

I wanted to use the title "Why I love my husband" but needed to remind myself that I could not tell this story and use my real name.

Yesterday was his birthday.   His oldest sister called, they rarely talk.  There have been issues over the years.  Their youngest sister died in 2011.  No one was surprised.  She had many health problems and they had suspected that of the five of them, she would probably die first.  She was 56.  Yesterday his sister who is a lawyer wanted to discuss the three life insurance policies.    The lawyer sister's focus was to see if there was a way for the policies stay out of the estate so the hospital would not get the money.   She was in a hospital and received care.  There are bills.   They should be paid.  Well, that is the opinion of the two brothers and probably the other sister.  The lawyer sister had a different plan.  My husband saw the responsibility of paying the debt.  He was furious. I believe he used his standard comment about people who claim to be Christian but rarely practice Christian values.

It was sad,  Happy Birthday but can we figure out a way to keep the money from the hospital who cared for her in her last days?????

Decency, integrity, not been in a church in years....but still takes those values to heart.   I love him so very much.

I wish I could pay  all my medical bills, but without a windfall, it just ain't gonna happen...  I went over 30 years, not owing anybody a dime, then I got my ass kicked by diabetes II... Oh well, at least I'm still alive... I've still got to deal with my parents estate and take care of my older brother's finances and medical care until he goes down from his Alzheimer's.  You husband has my admiration, but his lawyer sister is an idiot... here's hoping that the two of you can get out on the other side of this family BS.  Don't sweat the small stuff, life's too damn short.
