"When did you first realize LIFE WAS SHORT"? Open Call

Other than the usual racked up birthday cakes with the Fire Department on your Speed Dial, seeing an old couple holding hands or checking if you're in the Obituaries...

I'm just guessing - could these be...

10.  When you finally opened the junk email you got for Viagra?

9.  When you tried to tell your grandchildren about Telegrams?

8.  When your Inkjet runs out?

7.  When the Cremation Company sent you a Birthday Card?

6.  When your cat walks by with his nose in the air with a Number 8 around his neck?

5.  When your Bra needs to be airlifted?

4.  When you date a guy who remembers "Walnettos"?

3.  When you climbed the Eiffel Tower & forgot what you were going up there for?

2.  When your Selfie resembles Elmer Fudd?

And, the Number #1 time when you're gonna realize that life is short...

Election Day 2016!

Ha!  That last cartoon made me do a double take and laugh out loud.  Thanks!   The closer I get to the end the more I realize life is short.   Sigh.  I used to have lots of time to work thru bad decisions but lately it seems that there is no going back.  Maybe getting it right the first time really is the way to go.  too late now.

Perhaps in 1966, when both Walt Disney and my mother's father died hard upon one another, the enormity of it struck w force.

What?  I should be preparing for The End?  Nah, forget it.

I haven't.

If you're asking me when I realized my time left is limited, it hasn't completely dawned on me but I'm aware of it. However, I don't look back and say "It feels like that was only yesterday." It doesn't feel like yesterday. It feels like a long time ago. Things look close when you forget what was in between, and time doesn't always go by at the same rate - like four years of college seem to take up twice as much of your life as four or maybe even eight years immediately afterward - but I don't look back and say "Damn, I haven't had much time so far." As to how much I've wasted, that's another question. But it's been there and I'm aware of it.

Thanks Z!  I got a kick out of the cartoons too!  It's not a bad thing to realize Life is Short - at least you're still livin' it!

Thanks Joisey!  That's quite a reveal...the first time is always a shocker - but you have 9 months to get used to it!

Thanks Jon!  Of course, realizing you didn't save for Retirement is up there & what you saved for a rainy day won't buy you an  umbrella - but there are 100's to choose from.  But dating when you're my age brings out all the funny ones & I won't tell. ha ha

Thanks Myriad!  I agree with you completely - but I do lie about my dog's age!

Turned 67 this year and never thought I'd live to see thirty... looking to see if I can make 75 and still remember who I am. R&L ;-)
