I just learned of this man and his work.  This page spells out what he has done with film and tells about a new movie about the Internet that sounds incredibly interesting.

Herzog is amazing.  From opera to feature films to documentaries, he's done it all.  Two of my favorites: Nosferatu the Vampyre and Fitzcarraldo.

His take on the internet age is amazing in Lo and Behold.    I love his dark statements and chaotic view of nature.  Its all out to get us.  Herzog quotes are legendary.

Watching (on pause at moment), cnn’s “The Seventies” for the umpteenth time, i see the series’s executive producers are Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Mark Herzog. I thought there may be a likelihood that Mark was a son of or related to Werner Herzog even as the name Werner Herzog in your post escaped my recollections of any prior cognition or experience on my part.

Searching for a connection between the two, finding none in in a couple minutes of looking around the net, I did however find that now clouded timeframe of events from college days when I was so blown away by Werner’s  Aguirre, The Wrath of God much as I was during similar  rare breaks from the tedium of academics and labs when I’d watched our film club’s picks from King of Hearts, to La Strada, The Silent Spring, The Seventh Seal and probably other flics my memory vault has secured away until such time as I may be so fortunate as to unlock with the aid of time and patience enough to view a second time.

I'll have to come back to this one.  Quite a few threads tie together.
