Evil deeds done
cries of fear heard
human race in decay

Feeling like Armageddon
mankind is dying
sins go unpaid

Storms unleashed
anguished screams heard
damned are we

Rages fueled by hate
cold fury burns bright
malevolence is born

Terrorism has no religion, terrorists have no religion and they are friends of no religion.

If you are so inclined the purpose of religion is to govern yourself, not to criticize others or punish them for being different.

Monotheistic religion has been about governing the populace and punishing the "others" since it's inception, and unfortunately that's what we have to work with. Anything else is viewed through the filter set in place thousands of years ago, anyone that disagreed with that filter was burned at the stake as a witch. Terrorism could be seen as a natural evolution of that mindset.

Powerful words, beautiful and compelling image. I agree with your observations about religion in this context.

Thing I like about good poetry, including -- or maybe especially -- yours, 416, is how much can be conveyed in so few words. To be honest, this one put me in mind of Yeats.

Beautifully written and haunting poem on the events in the world, M. C.

.... maybe as I spend my work days hanging out around 7000 - 1500 B.C., depending, I don't see so much an end for humans, but it might to likely will be a really rough transition to the next era....

I just wish humans would actually learn some lessons from history. Usually a pretty good guide on what not to do again. But we do...

Anna, lovely to see you, this war has been going on for 1400 years and we’ve learned nothing other than to prefect ways of cause greater harm to one another.  What causes me great concern is this madness is done in the name of god.  Where is the god in murder and mayhem?

Drew-Silla, thank you for reading
