Come quick nurse said, bed four,

He drove himself to the E. R.

Walked alone through the door, and

 Fell unconscious on our floor.

No pulse, ventricular fib

Breath, compress, check, starts and fits

Flat line, adrenaline please, check

Nothing?  Nothing. Call it quits.

Is any family here?

His wife is waiting in room ten.

Put her in the quiet room

And tell her I’ll be right in.

Mrs. Smith, I have bad news

Your husband had a heart attack

We couldn’t bring your loved one back

I’m sorry, your husband’s dead.”

She stared into my eyes and said,

“That miserable son-of-a-bitch,

How could he leave me alone?

At a time like this? Damn his soul.

Forgive me, Doc, I don't know why; but this one made me laugh.

I was stunned.  I had heard of Elisabeth Kubler Ross's Five Stages of Grief, but I had never seen anyone go straight to anger.  And the victim isn't the usual object of the anger.  I imagine that my mouth may have been hanging open.

`

Tragic. Life os goofy. Life is so goog?

I recall hearing about a Veteran suicide.

I had 'put him up' in my burned Home.

I began cursing: Why? It's a new day!

I was blue skies. It was beautiful day.

I remember scolding: O Look around!

`

I remember ref ` Your real unexected

true story. I was there when my Father

had a heart attack. Dad was distressed

because of his daughter louse partner.

Dad was ` pained, hurt. My sister?

`

Never Mind - Dad pointed to his chest.

H said: I am having one of those. Huh?

He didn't say` Heart Attack. Heart Broke.

`

I said ` I'll call Uncle Walt. I called Doc

Doc Walt` Dads Brother was a OBGYN.

My Dad always thought that was ODD.

One Brother was a FBI agent. Goog?

He (FBI) was a delight to talk with.

The gynecologist ask: He having baby?

tease. OBGYN Walt called a ambulance.

Odd Humor is a Life coping mechanism.

Good read. If you constipated call 9-1-1.

No way of knowing what was going on in their lives. Funny, though sad, too, because it must have been a doozy and now she had a funeral piled on top of it.

Phyllis, exactly.  I never found out what it was.

My husband was angry at his death. It was unexpected, but when I thought about it, I understood it.

Happy birthday!
