I don't know if I ever told you about the squatters in my pergola, one egg, a fledgling in the yard. Who knows.

I had a good weekend.

New weed whacker, 40 volts, trimmed a lot until the battery ran out.

Cats drove me nuts so I took them inside. Weeded around the deck, stuffed chicken wire in underneath it. I left the north end open because a baby bunny has moved in with its Mum under there. So far, they eat dandelion fluff and leaves, and dock leaves. It's been interesting, and they amuse the cats.

Weeded the iris, cut out the cherry tree sprouts from the stump, and edged the fence around the corner. The front yard is looking better.

Redbuds are too big, it would be a major event to dig them up. So I decided to cut them down but I don't have a chainsaw and I didn't have the energy for a handsaw so they're still standing. I trimmed off a lot of branches and tied the remaining stuff together with a rope, to get it out of my way, and now it looks like a tree.

The redbud trees out front were dead, so I dug up all of the tiny baby ones and stuck them in a pot. I dug up some pretty white flowers by the back fence and found out they're bulbs! Apparently Star of Bethlehem, which is an invasive species. Too bad they're so pretty.

After all of that, I mowed. I have 13 milkweed plants in the front yard right now, it seems they act like bamboo and grow new plants from roots they send out.

Adso ponked the fledgling on the head while being attacked by three adults, Medjet sat and watched. Fledgling flew away about an hour later, cats were inside.

End of weekend.

I wondered what those white flowers are! Thanks for the ID !

I have them too, they pop up here and there... this house has a lot of old fashioned flowers a former owner-gardener planted many years ago, fun to learn what they are. Invasive, eh? I wonder if that's true here as well....

Glad your weekend went well!! - same here, mostly, but I did wear a coat all weekend and there was snow on the peaks. Darned cold Spring around here.

(Finally bought a new (Stihl) weed whacker here, too, a couple weeks ago - finally. Had to buy better ear protection though! Those things are so noisy - and they tend to vibrate your arms for hours afterward, too. Nice tools, though, weed whackers....)

Anna, that top picture is me sticking my phone over the nest and taking a picture. I had a lot more description in this post and then I cut it all out. Guess I should have left that bit in, huh. ;)

Adso just saved the robin's life- it was under the deck and got caught in some of the chicken wire, I looked out the window to see what Adso was so intent on and there it was. Good kitty.
