So in scrambling to the top

for the why do they seek

is the climb

with my eyes

nary proof will we keep

for a 100 million years now

has this desert evolved

thank a Hoyt and a Roosevelt

for future generations to solve

high atop monzogranite

in the cold desert wind

with a gasp

in warm sun light

did the beauty transcend

there I felt that

this real treasure

was in finding

one's true measure,

Thanks Z and Jmac for sticking with me. Interesting that an ongoing piece can be read by clicking the next button. We had an amazing time in Palm Springs and loved Joshua Tree.

Thanks FM. It was beautiful that day we drove the length of the park. I stopped the car at whim to take pics and climb or stroll through the boulders. We went to see the Joshua Trees in the Mojave but the rocks were really my favorites. Many campers were "scrambling", as they call it, up the sides of these magnificent monzogranites. The desert is so misleading, no? We left the warm pool in the morning (75) and drove unprepared to fine very chilly conditions (40) high up in the Mojave. I'm so glad these were run together...thanks.
