The latest anti-Trump flaps ginned up by the liberal media concern abortion and the use of nukes in defensive warfare. So fierce has been the media and political attacks that Trump has been forced to modify/change his stands more than reason requires.

As for abortion, the idea of holding a woman legally responsible for her abortion under certain carefully circumscribed circumstances is not indefensible. A woman in an advanced state of pregnancy who has knowingly dithered around for months delaying a decision on an abortion to the point where a viable, discernible fetus is within her to me is morally reprehensible, and I would have no problem with a law that would hold her legally responsible as well. The crime would be conspiracy to murder, and the doctors and other individuals or organizations participating in or facilitating the ex hypothesi illegal late-term abortion would be liable as co-conspirators.

Giving a woman the right to terminate a pregnancy for any reason in its early stages, say while the woman has the stomach to observe on a sonogram the grotesque procedure is fine with me.  And I do mean any reason—rape, incest, gay fetus, or interference with bridge club dates. The right-to-life extremists, including, without limitation, Catholics are totally wrong here as elsewhere. Life doesn't start at conception, but it surely starts sometime before delivery. We should look to the medical profession, not politicians, to help establish relevant guidelines.

Why Donald Trump agreed to grace any forum moderated by Chris Matthews is a mystery to me. By the way, I earlier noted that Anderson Cooper is not too bright, but compared to Matthews, Coop’s Edward R. Morrow. This brash bully, whose Obama-induced leg tremors have apparently reached his brain, started off by rudely demanding that one of his opaque questions be answered “yes” or “no.” Trump, who doesn’t like to be ordered around, especially by some second-class, low-rated talk show host, made the simple point that in negotiating with terrorists, no particular measure, including the use of nukes, should be off the table. What’s wrong with that?

If the failures of the Obama administration have proven nothing else it’s that a potential or actual foe who goes around saying what he will or not do, or worse still, following Obama’s penchant for adding when to the disclosure is a fool. Military leaders have been groaning for quite a while about Obama’s full and fair disclosure policy which might have some legitimacy in an SEC-vetted prospectus but is a disaster as a military strategy.

As I’ve said before, I’m not a Trump supporter, but if it’s a choice among him, Clinton, Sanders, or Cruz, the big D has my vote.

You're right about one thing Gordito, he is a Big D ... and just ask him!

@Terry McKenna, good point if somewhat impolitely put. Abortions should be available at any point if there is medical certification that delivery will be seriously detrimental to the physical  health of EITHER mother OR child. But you may be unaware that this exception has been abused by dithering women who can con their doctors into certifying that their mental health will be affected. Simple anxiety about the prospect of childbirth should not be sufficient for a dithering woman to escape the consequences of the original leg uncrossing. Thanks for the comment. Really stands out among the others.

@ the feminist wing  The father is responsible for the creation of life. The murderous termination of that life is solely the responsibility of the would-be mother and her co-conspirators in the murder.

You do know that an attempt to suggest when in a pregnancy an abortion should or should not be available was contained in Roe v Wade, right?

Roe v. Wade held that a woman, as a matter of general principle, has a right to abort. It also left the door open to reasonable limitations on that right. Read the opinion.

Well, at least I got you to spell "dithering" correctly. I can always tell second-rate thinkers by the coarseness of their expression.
