Thought For The Day - 13 September 2017

In case it hasn't been obvious, Donald J. Quisling has been very, very busy not draining the swamp. In fact, he's been very busy stocking it with alligators and other predatory critters.

Tens of thousands of former students who say they were swindled by for-profit colleges are being left in limbo as the Trump administration delays action on requests for loan forgiveness, according to court documents obtained by The Associated Press.

Putting the crooks in charge isn't draining the swamp, of course.

In August, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos picked Julian Schmoke Jr., a former associate dean at DeVry University, as head of the department's enforcement unit. She also has tapped a top aide to Florida's attorney general who was involved in the decision not to pursue legal action against Trump University to serve as the agency's top lawyer. More than 2,000 requests for loan forgiveness are pending from DeVry students.

Isn't just such corruptions what you would expect from a convicted crook?

Other Trump administration agencies also have hired staffers who previously worked on behalf of the industry they now regulate. For example, Nancy Beck, deputy assistant administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency, used to work at the American Chemistry Council, the industry's leading trade group.

And, of course, the creme-de-la-creme of corporate enablers, Scott "To use time and effort to address [climate change] at this point is very, very insensitive to this people in Florida" Pruitt running EPA.

It's strange that so few people have read the biographies of Trump.  He has always been a businessman and he will give his supporters the business.  In the coming decade they will pray for the return of Obama, or even George W.  And that is not a stretch.

Can you say, kakistocracy?

finally, I heard (wasn't really watching the TeeVee, so didn't catch the name of) a mainstream pundit state the obvious:  Quisling and Putin are birds of a feather; Putin is a dictator and Quisling has been one in his own TTO orbit and intends to be the same at 1600.  also, it's finally dawning on the mainstream pundits that Quisling's administration has done, and will do, nothing to prevent future meddling.  why would they???? why would Putin decide to aid a Democrat???  he never will, of course.  and Quisling's open door policy will only fail if Congress stops it.  but it's run by Quisling enablers.  so get used to Amerika.

I think we are giving Trump too much credit and are dishing Putin for no reason.  Look at Putin when he is accused of collaborating with Trump.  He has the look of surprise on his face and in his manner.  But he is willing to take the credit and the lumps.  I think we should be concentrating on the Kochtopus.  This is where the power lies.  Trump is just the insane front man.  Remember how magic acts work to deceive the observer.

Kochtopus may be the best single word I've read for what's most wrong with America.

-- dishing Putin for no reason

there is a reason:  Putin was interfering in European elections before he decided to take on the USofA.  whether Quisling approached Putin or the other way round (Miss Universe, of course).  the many ties with Russia/Putin go back years.  in 2008 Jr. admitted most of the money came from Russia.  further reporting has it that the "German" bank money was just laundered Kremlin money.  he signed a LoI with Russia for another Trump Moscow while campaigning.  and so on.
