There are still a few things we can try before January 20, 2017...

Hello my dear OS Friends, it's been a while.  :)

As Trump makes his appointments, we may be getting more & more concerned... but here are a few things  we can still do:

1.  Petition asking electors to vote for Clinton (4.8 million signatures so far).  21 states still do not require their members of the Electoral College vote for their party's designated candidate.:
(Please note:  I believe there are other petitions circulating asking the electors to vote for anyone but Trump, or to vote for another specific candidate, which you can seek out if you would prefer to sign one of that nature.)
2.  Please call or e-mail Department of Justice & ask them to investigate election fraud--more info in photo.  Can also share  on Facebook, etc.
Telephone:   1-800-253-3931  (press 5)  OR  202-353-1555 (leave message) OR e-mail
"My name is [first, last name].  I'm calling from [city, state] to respectfully request that you pursue an investigation into voter suppression, Russian collusion, and FBI interference with the 2016 presidential election.  Please issue an injunction until a thorough investigation can take place."
3.  This Saturday December 10 at 3 pm EST in every state (occurring simultaneously in every state), rally against Trump: Here is meeting place for each state:
4.  Contact our Senators & Representatives in Washington & tell them to get going on investigating Trump, FBI & Russian interference in whatever they can to keep him from being sworn in:
Thank you!  It's a long shot, but I am really fearful for our democracy, the future of our environment, and especially for the children growing up under an increasingly fascist-appearing Trump kleptocracy.  Among  other examples too numerous to count, his apparent praise of Philippines' Duterte's thousands of extrajudicial murders since coming into office in June is extremely alarming.
Please share any other ideas you may have!  Thanks very much!
Love,  Clay Ball    :)

Hi Jonathan!  :)  Just read that Obama has ordered a full review into Russian interference: , so that's one little step in the right direction.

I expect that HRC's over two million vote plurality speaks for itself... unfortunately Trump has won the election by losing the vote.  All I can see is that Trump is living proof of H. L. Mencken's dark observations on the American people:

Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

Public opinion, in its raw state, gushes out in the immemorial form of the mob's fear. It is piped into central factories, and there it is flavoured and coloured and put into cans.

The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots. The demaslave is one who listens to what these idiots have to say and pretends to believe it himself.

Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.

That's a great, if sad, quote, JMac...our flavored, colored, canned mob fear. US has no monopoly on that. We have to fight it, though.  It's sweeping over Europe & other places, too.  Maybe it's an animal impulse, but we can't allow Trump & others to harness it for their profit & power.  We have to believe this country and land still belong to all of us.  I remember J. Prestholdt (The Human Rights Warrior on Open Salon) started writing that Assad had killed maybe one person, then another, & a musician who sang out against the regime...I don't remember the exact sequence, but she warned us right then he was headed down an ugly path of no return.  I think we have to try to stop Trump, because he's shown he is incapable of stopping or containing himself. He is exponentially different from the other leaders we've had.

Wasn't it announced today that there will be an investigation of Russian involvement?

President Obama has ordered American intelligence agencies to produce a full report on Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election, his homeland security adviser said on Friday. He also directed them to develop a list of “lessons learned” from the broad campaign the United States has accused Russia of carrying out to steal emails, publish their contents and probe the vote-counting system.

The FBI is already investigating the hacking. I don't know if that includes actual interference in the election. The part I bolded above - there's likely so much concern about the potential for disruption if the election were to be overturned that it won't go beyond that.

But what the hell, I'll call.

Thank you, Rosi!  It's nice to be here again. Hopefully I'll be back more often especially now that winter has hit. :)

Hi Kosh!  Thank you so much!   :)

Hi nerd cred--that sounds like a step in the right direction, at least.  I think a Trump presidency would be 1,000,000 times more disastrous than the disruption caused by overturning his president-elect status, but those in power may be too afraid to rock the boat now.  I hope they do, before it's too late.  Today there are saying the CEO of Exxon is favored for Secretary of State...what?  Our foreign policy will be: oil & Trump Organization enrichment.
