From a night full of rain, thunder and hail the creek was aroused. Taking the reeds and leaf debris with it the water rushed down the hill roaring with power. The little stream had become a torrent by the time I took my morning walk and I saw two ducks taking a ride.
The ducks finally found a place away from the relentless current and they clung together like exhausted lovers. Side by side they let the creek roll on as they took a rest right in the midst of their powerful ride.
"Woo, that was great," the female duck was saying. "You were magnificent sailing along with the rush."
"Oh baby, that was fun. Let's go further." The male duck was hot to keep riding the currents.
"Just a minute, I have to catch my breath. Hang on to this branch with me and just hug me tight." The female duck watched the swollen creek flow all around them and soon she was ready to go again too.
"Okay, I'm ready to keep on riding. Let me go first tho and you follow behind in case I get over turned." She pushed off and they sailed down through the reeds, laughing all the way.
