The Short Attention Span Christmas Medley 2014

A Christmas post from me?

What the Hell, I'm at Disney looking at decorations, so I'm in the mood.

This is the 2014 version of something they do on A Prairie Home Companion. It's a piano performance, well under three minutes, really just over two. What kind of a medley can you perform in that amount of time?

Funny you should ask.....

I like socks

REI has something I've never seen before: merino socks with a Lifetime Warrantee! On socks! Like they guarantee they'll NEVER wear out.

Kosh, two of the most iconic pieces of Christmas music ever written are pieces written by men of the Jewish persuasion and heritage....

I'm speaking, of course, of "The Christmas Song", written by Mel Torme, and, "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin....

The nature and quality of the cobtributions to American culture cannot and should not ever be measured by anything more than the qualitative impact of the cobtributions and content of the character of the individuals making such contributions....

What would an American Christmas be without hearing some of the many hundreds of versions and renditions of these songs?

The video you posted captures well the mood and the moment....

The spirit in which it was posted is priceless.....Beyond measure....

Thanks.......And, Merry Christmas to you as well....

Thanks, Ron
I'm aware of Jewish contributions to the canon.

I love Chistmas music because of both its quality and variety. It's a very deep book. Also, I used to play in a Renaissance music group, so I'd get to some early stuff; I really like Riu Riu Chiu and Es Ist Ein Rose Ensprungen - I like Praetorius in general, in part because he's what people mean when they wants to hear really old music, though they tend to think it's medieval, when the music tended to be crude and weird rather than sounding like Greensleeves which is what everyone pictures.
