NYT Sept. 5, 2018
The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers.

So here's the question:

Should the author of the scathing New York Times Op-Ed essay come forward and identify himself/herself?

This generation’s Deep Throat shouldn’t reveal him/herself any more than the last generation’s did for the same reasons.

I tend to think s/he ought to reveal resign...his/her present course further undermines the foundations of functional government...no matter how good this may feel now, that feeling will not last...and we had worked out much of what s/he reports.

I see why the NYT did what it did and can pretty well condone its decision; but not so much the method of the writer (one or more).

His/her non-reveal is a cave to the dysfunction, the madness, the insider deplores.

I disagree. I think with this President we need to keep as many counterbalances in place in the White House as we can manage.

at thi point i think its fabricated due to the status of modern day "journalism" and also,if true, would be self-defeating...

What amazes me is that the same people that want to burn Snowden, Manning and Assuage at the stake are perfectly okay with the "person" who disclosed this info as an anonymous op-ed.
