The Premise of the Story- OS Weekend Fiction

At work one day, a character finds something troubling in a coworker’s desk drawer. What is it, and what happens?

So I read this and I start to think, what could the troubling item be? A bloody knife, a box of condoms, a dead squirrels tail. My cat.

Then we have to wonder who's drawer would have the contraband. There's the widow, the older unmarried secretary, the hotsie-totsie with the wild hair colors. Or myself.

Then there's the question of the drawer. Which drawer. I have two desk drawers, which no one goes into. There are a lot of drawers in my workspace. At least half a dozen that are part of the cabinetry. The card file where I keep the records for who has keys checked out. Paper drawers on the copiers...

Lots of drawers there, and secret places to tuck things away, but no one else would be peeking inside. Except the repair guy. Nope, it would have to be a file cabinet that I keep keys in, the top of which is currently decorated for the Holidays.

Lots of drawers, usually locked, other people can access but only when I'm not there which is rare.

So now, who would find it? The choices are now cut down to two- my boss and the department head's secretary. But, they are file cabinets with the key number printed on the lock. (BTW, that's on all file cabinets. A small secret of file cabinets. You learned it here.) So, theoretically, anyone could access the cabinets. So what we could do is booby trap the drawer to catch a scoundrel that has been accessing the drawer illegally.

So there's the plot. A booby trapped filing cabinet drawer opened by a scoundrel. I'll write the story later.
