It begins and continues its never ending cycling into itself as life must do to be life.

Oh My God, my gnarly damn pineapple finally has a flower!

Next picture I'll clean the left over cobwebs off, promise, but thought I'd share the blessed event. Wondering if the flower can turn into a fruit without pollination? Not sure how all that works.

Awesome!!! I have four plants, some over 2 years old, and none have flowered yet.  If they survive the freeze, perhaps it will spur them to make babies while the sun still shines.... cheers!

Oryoki, I started this from a store bought pineapple in 2008. Freezing may kill your little guys, I only leave mine out when its above 40 degrees. Good luck!

ahhh, a new little life in the world.  my dad planted the top of one he brought back to FL from Hawaii, silly I know, but it did eventually set fruit and although it only grew a little 8" baby-size pineapple, it was perfectly shaped.  I can't recall if he attempted to see if it was edible, but I suppose it was just fun.
