And that is why I don't have yard sales. I always pay what they put on the tag when I go to one. I hope it ended well for you.

We love garage sales where I come from. To visit, not to run, tho'

Time for a foot massage for you, dear Asia, or a nice bath....

I've only held a few garage sales, always by necessity. Moving and downsizing like I am presented a major need, a need to sell my over excess of stuff. ugh... . Still have a love seat, couch, clothes, some kitchen wear, a few nondescript pictures, etc...  Next week I'll donate the last of it to the local thrift store and take the tax deduction.

I've found if I ask even a dollar too much, people will walk away and I need it gone! Its a crummy feeling to know your nearly giving your stuff away, but such is life.

Had a family yard sale Once.

Had to leave for an hour and when I cam back lots of my stuff was gone. Seemed great until I figured out mom-in-law had been letting people make down payments with a promise to come back later with the balance. Yikes.

I love going to garage sales, but hate having them. There's something just a little depressing knowing that nobody seems to want all those things I'm conflicted about giving up...or that they have a collective value of about the price of a dinner.

That's the problem. Not worth to them what it is to you

*sigh*

I can relate.

I abhore putting my stuff out for display, yet do appreciate the letting go, the space, the extra cash...

...why oh why, people, why haggle down from $4 to $3, though?
