The Democratization of Capitalism?

Equity and equality in Income and wealth lie in the tangibles required to:

Make Something
Build Something
Grow Something
Extract Something
Sell Something
Move Something

Income and wealth inequality and inequity lie in speculation on stock prices and futures in Wall Street hedge funds....

Labor v Capital

People v Profit

Freedom and Justice for All cannot eminate from a society which is predicated on the competitive expediency of capitalism rather than the egalitarian impulse/principle of Democracy....

If Democracy and Capitalism are not mutually exclusive, we must double down on the political, social, and economic structures that reconcile the paradigms upon which this nation is built...

Doing so is not Socialism...

Failure to do so is not an option...

Fix Something - which might include Solve Something and Cure Something
Invent Something
Install Something
Record Something
Protect Something
Clean Something
Teach Something
Test Something
Destroy Something
and possibly, if it isn’t considered part of another category, Design Something
Entertain Someone

What unregulated capitalism is built on is largely gambling and using regulation to reduce gambling risk in the speculation category. The problem with this is not just labor vs. capital as people who develop and build companies are often not capital speculators per se. They can turn into people who rig systems like John D. Rockefeller did but they don’t have to. Even once we get to owners who build, the difference here is that those owners are very concerned with the health of the entity they’ve built whereas many speculators are strictly interested in milking assets. Not all; that’s not Warren Buffet’s model, for example.

Even Abraham Lincoln said you cannot elevate the poor by tearing down the rich. Class warfare is the classic assault upon capitalism used by the Marxists, Bolsheviks, Statists, Collectivists, socialists, and Communists all these terms apply to one centralized theme demonize the wealthy in order to enslave all!

“No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country.”

President Roosevelt criticized businesses paying low wages to employees during his 1933 statement on the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA). NIRA allowed the government to regulate business to combat deflation and stimulate a better economic situation.

Elevating the poor doesn’t tear down the rich

Ron there is now exactly perfect system but Capitalism is what catapulted America ahead of all nations and allowed us the economic strength to win two world wars in a single century, send billions to Europe to rebuild, airlift provisions to starving people in the Eastern Bloc, and send foreign aid to countries all over the world ever since the Cold War. Anytime the government gets involved in the interference with the free flow of markets it backfires, but I will see the Glass Steagal Act was necessary. Wages are also proportionate to the free markets a living wage for entry level and low skilled jobs is a fallacy! In Seattle they wiped out entire restaurant rows because the living wage broke the back of their profit and loss! I have had lots of experience in the restaurant and they have a very narrow margin as most businesses do and its only volume that compensates them for it not stand alone operations that succumb easily to unforeseen overhead increases! FDR signed the Emergency Powers Act that technically bankrupted America and caused every man woman and child to have a debt affixed to their lifetime wage output. Ever wondered what those numbers are on the edge of the page of your birth certificate? That's an exchange traded fund that is represented by your estimated lifetime income to be taxed! Another great bond of enslavement from your Federal Reserve!

@Doc; "Capitalism is what catapulted America ahead of all nations..."

Capitalism predicated on slavery...

When America was at its strongest, money was distributed more evenly and working people made livings at their jobs.
