Somewhere

Somewhere along the way

My best laid plans fell astray

Somewhere along the way

My lovers just wouldn’t stay,

Somewhere along the way

Road of good intentions faded away

Somewhere along the way

For my arrogance I was to pay,

Like a child lost in a crowd

With my heart beating out aloud

I fell when I was confident and proud

No fruit from a field I never plowed,

No respect from the madding crowd

A forgotten father no longer proud

Just a little more rain on my parade

Sinking my boat in the Everglades,

Somewhere along the way

My best laid plans fell away

Somewhere along the way

My lovers just couldn’t to stay,

Somewhere along the way

Road of good intentions faded away

Somewhere along the way

For my arrogance I was to pay,

Just one reason for this insanity

I could blame them and never me

I could plead innocence so easily

But it was my choice to jump into the sea.

that's really good vega.  I'll bet you could put that poem to music.

Yep, I could if my mind wasn't so fragmented from stress and sadness. I pray each and every day to hold onto a bigger piece of the picture so I do not get lost in self imposed hopelessness. Some days I win and others I acquiesce. Thank you for your reply.
