No prosecution of Hillary.  No mercy for the press.  No denial of the White Nationalists.  No denial of his million dollar investment in the company building the pipeline through Native Sacred lands....What a Thanksgiving!

The "transition" is waffling back and forth.  Romney or not...Ben Carson or not...A woman?... a black?  Who will be in his cabinet?  He is totally enjoying all his power.  Meanwhile he admits his charity broke the law.  Meanwhile his wife will not be going with him to the White House until school is over.  Meanwhile he is talking on unsecure phone lines to people all over the world.

He is against the wind farms in Scotland because they would hurt the view from his new resort there.  He will never release his taxes, he will never create a blind trust for his businesses.  He will make as much money as he can for himself telling everyone that he is working for the people.  The people still love him.

They like how he belittles the press.  They like how Presidential he looks.  They like that he is not taking a salary for his Presidential job.  He is trying to create a diverse cabinet. It will be interesting to see who the final picks are.  He will tweet and rally his way through the country and bypass the press all together.  Yet he did meet with the New York Times finally today and held a press conference.  Getting his message out and not flinching from the hard questions.

He is supporting Bannon as a nationalist and not a white nationalist.  Is Nationalism good?  I like globalism but with Merkel in peril in Germany, France on the brink of right wing take over and Turkey in extreme shackles the world is closing in to tribes again.  Is America losing its first place role as the strongest country in the world?

We are in uncharted territory.  A forty percent approval rating is not good for a new President elect.  A million and a half more votes for Hillary make him look small.  What kind of change is this that is coming?  How can Romney work for him?  I guess his style is to hire good people and then let them do the job.  That is such a good way to run anything.  Diversity and trust.  Maybe he has a chance.  Heaven help any who get in his way...and I didnt mention his name.

I went swimming at the big pool here in Pahoa and bought a turkey for ten dollars.

                                                    Happy Holidays?

You left out that he settled the Trump University suit for $25 million and the Trump Foundation admitted to the misuse of funds to the IRS. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-foundation-apparently...

...and he's not even taken the oath of office.

In the first paragraph I said he admitted his charity broke the law.

Kosh, maybe you could word your comments a little more gently.

Totally with you Zanelle. It's surreal. My strategy lately as a means to self preservation is watch and hear as little as possible. What difference will it make if I miss his latest tweeting? None. I go about the day doing things that make a real difference, for me. I take note of the falling leaves and leaving birds. I build things and think and grin. In the big picture life still looks pretty good.

aka   That is the exact sentence Kosh put in these comments and for some reason it annoys me.

yes, trig...stay in your bubble.  I do..The fun saves me.

angry buddha guy....so true.  It is terrible and scary.  So many Republicans are giddy.  It is definitely a show...an extravaganza like we have never seen.  The right is really enjoying how the left has descended into name calling and depression.

Im a bleeding heart liberal.  I want people to be taken care of.  Trump's business deals are absolutely fascinating.  He is breaking every single rule.  People are cheering him on.

The business class is counting their money for all the lucrative building contracts...few regulations and lots going on.   My friend who is in business in Tennessee making 3d printers stands to save 60,000 in taxes and fees.  He says he would donate it all to charity.  He didnt support Trump.

Reds always wanted a business man in the office.  It is so strange that there is no law about creating a blind trust for the President but there is for everyone else.  The law makes it easy for someone like Trump to do business from the White House.  Woo...it is heady stuff for the little guy from the city who just wanted to please his dad.

It is just beginning.  Revolution or Prosperity for us all!  Can we work together?

So now I will address those two comments that irked me.  Kosh and AKA both said  .. "diverse cabinet"!!!  Like it was some bad thing I had said....for some reason it made me defensive.  Are you two guys trying to say that I dont know what I am talking about?  You dash in here and say that comment really quickly and then leave.  I feel taken aback.

In his world that is a diverse cabinet.  He has all kinds of viewpoints.  We havent seen the whole scope of it but my prediction is that it will be constantly changing and we might as well get used to that.  He is feeling his way along, trying to get along with everyone.  He wants everyone to like him.

So diverse to you must mean...democratic men and women of all races...I totally agree that he has horrible picks that make me ill.   They seem morally wrong to me and then he throws in Romney.  Then he throws in a woman and Ben Carson and it all gets mixed up.  He could even bring in his limo driver before it is all over.  We dont have any idea how diverse this Presidency will be.   It will incorporate things we wish had been left in the swamp under a rock forever.

This is going to be very interesting.  Diverse is taking on a whole new look.  It is a challenge for me to get out of my liberal bubble and comprehend what is going on without getting scared.  Fear.  I hate business.  I hate the right.  I hate religion.  I want people taken care of.   I hope we see benefits to the people ...the reds say that if we help the business class with fewer regulations and less taxes then let's see them do it without the crash of 2008.   Diverse...you cant' imagine how wild it is going to get.   ....

No, Zanelle, my comment was not about the cabinet. My comment wasn't even on this post. It was on Another Wave.

You said:

"Our eight years of Obama lulled me into thinking we were all done with racism."

I was truly shocked by that statement. I reacted to it with extreme disbelief. Not, incidentally, with any epithets or anything of the sort. Just extreme disbelief.

Comment by Zanelle on November 22, 2016 at 8:48pm

You made that comment here and I deleted it just like I deleted that comment about how you could not believe what I said about being lulled into thinking racism was getting better because we had a black President.  You dont even know when you were deleted...twice.

I am watching Tom Friedman on Charlie Rose.  He is talking about the table around which we are all gathering in this world.   He talks about how we are in the Age of Acceleration.  Things are going fast.  He says we can thrive if we avoid becoming tribal.  The reds vs the blues.  If one of the super powers fail it is catastrophic for the whole world.  Things are on edge.  We dont want to make any fast moves and yet they are coming fast and furious.

I am not in the mood to argue.   Exteme disbelief about something I said is demeaning to my brain and my spirit.  Am I overreacting?  Maybe.  The fact that you and aka do not take me seriously hurts my feelings...to paraphrase Hillary.

Zanelle,
Maybe I'm having a senior moment, but I don't remember commenting about the cabinet. I haven't followed what he's doing with the cabinet. In fact I don't remember reading this post until I read your reaction. Are you sure that wasn't Keith Joiner? His avatar is dark blue like mine.

Extreme disbelief doesn't mean I don't take you seriously. If anyone else I know here had said that I'd have reacted identically, unless I knew I was dealing with someone really sensitive. Which I guess I might be, in which case I'll back off.
