Oh...lookey there! More forgotten Russians...Or at least a lobbyist or two.
The trouble with telling boldface lies during sworn public testimony is that other people are inclined to take them seriously and wanna correct the record to show that they, themselves, in this case said lobbyists to enterprising journalists, unlike Jeff Sessions, have nothing to hide. I doubt the Trump Team will want Jeff to try and correct the public record yet a third time. Maybe, just maybe, a public resignation, already privately offered in advance of testifying, will ward off his being subpoenaed. Then again, probably not. Irritating for Trump, of course, is that Sessions was probably his easy Get-out-of-jail card and he hasn't got too many left that can be dealt from the bottom of a stacked deck.
Jeff may not know where all the Russian bodies are buried. He knew Trump was pro Russia and probably understood some of Trump's many Russian entanglements. He may have agreed to secrecy on sensitive political grounds rather than out of conspiracy or corruption. But, can he talk and offer up a bigger fish to avoid his own prosecution? At the very least, he will demonstrate that DOJ Attorney Generals can be brought down just as NSA heads like Michael Flynn was. He will make Number Two and counting. Remember, 48 Nixon people were indicted, and that was very small pirogies compared to this.
