Senator Feinstein vs Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke and your government

The liberal assault on weapons has gotten out of hand. The old, tired, phrase of “we have to protect the children” has allowed people to claim they can do anything they want because, “it's for the children”. No matter how loud the cry is, and how much you feel the government should step in and “do something”, how much is to much?

When a shooting, or other problem, rears it's ugly head the politicians are there at the ready with bills that they have written years ago just waiting to file them and start the swan song of it's for the children. Why let a good tragedy go to waist?

Who are these bills aimed at? Why us minions who don't know how to take care of ourselves of course. They don't apply to the elite ruling class of politicians. Look at Senator Feinstein's latest, and miss named, assault weapon ban. Want to guess who it doesn't apply to? If you said the ruling class of Senators and Congressman and other government officials go to the head of the line.

Politicians speak out of both sides of their mouth all the time. They make stuff up so they can go out and make speeches so that their loyal lemmings can follow and drool and fawn over them and their every word and deed. Take Mayor “Gun Control” Bloomberg. He was asked by a polite, well dressed, reporter if he would disarm his security staff since he won't allow the citizens of NYC to protect themselves with guns. Well you are not allowed to ask such a question of the king of NYC. His bodyguards, all five of them, moved to block the reporter and camera from questioning the mayor again. Then as the reporter walked away he was followed and stopped and questioned about his identity and DOB by the mayor's security staff.

I don't think anyone would argue that when people are in harms way they shouldn't defend themselves, would they? I mean, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

According to Milwaukee sheriff David Clarke Jr, you need to. He believes that your safety isn't a “spectator sport” anymore. "With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option." "You could beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back." “You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We're partners now.” You do know that the Supreme Court ruled years ago that the police have NO duty to protect you. If it's not their job, then who does it belong to? Maybe you?

But let's get back to liberals and “it's for the children”. How much do you want to control your life and how much do you want your government to be a nanny state and hold your hand until you kick the bucket, assuming they don't push you into the bucket? Do you want to give them whatever they want because they won't abuse it?

How about the the story of the Ohio father who posted a picture on his Facebook page of him holding his baby and an unloaded BB gun. He was arrested and charged with child endangerment. He is out on bail now. The police claim because he is holding both the baby and the BB gun the child is in danger. The police said the close proximity of the gun to the child created a substantial risk of physical harm. How many of you have ever held your crying baby while you tried to cook dinner or warm their bottle? Could you be arrested because your baby could move and they could get burned? That hot stove creates a substantial risk. It's legal to hold your baby. It's legal to hold a BB gun. It's legal to take pictures of yourself doing legal things and post them, but, doing legal things is illegal. Hey, it's for the children. You could be stupid.

Politicians sure wouldn't lie about it would they? Well our beloved Joe Biden he wouldn't lie about anything would he? How about when he wanted to make political points he lied about the 1972 accident that took the lives of his wife and daughter. How could you use your dead wife and daughter to make points by telling a lie. Joe Biden, as late as 2007 made statements that a "guy who allegedly ... drank his lunch" drove the truck that struck and killed his first wife and daughter. That's sick! It's also a lie according to the police investigation.

It's almost as sick as the one he is telling now to “save the children”. He is going around in his gun control speeches and claiming when the Amish school shooting happened in 2006 that he was playing golf at a golf course where he was able to hear the gunshots. He lied. The nearest golf course is five miles away and there is no record of Biden ever being at the course.

But he isn't the only politician to lie about guns. There is our Senator Feinstein who admits that she had a CWP and carried a gun. Now she has guards, with guns, that you can't afford. It's okay for her, but not you. To make the point how it's unsafe for you to do what she does, and why you should support her nanny state who is going to protect you from yourself, she lied about what the FBI said was the result of the last assault weapon ban.

Is the government you want the one who thinks you are stupid? Who thinks they are better than you so you can't do something but they can? Do you want one who can take totally legal act and put you in jail because they “think” you are a danger to your child? Do you really want that?

I don't. I want a government who will allow me to have the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. I don't want guaranteed results or equality. I don't want a government who is going to control everything. If they are in control that's not liberty. I want a government who stays out of my business as much as they can and the results of my life depend on what I put into it. Good decisions equals good things. Bad decisions? You made your bed you can lay in it. I want a government who doesn't lie to me. Face it. When was the last time they didn't lie to you?

So where do you want your government? Rank it on a scale of one (anarchy) to one hundred ( Totalitarian) and tell us why and what's the limit of government you are willing to accept.

Yes I saw the old YouTube of Feinstein admitting she that she had a CWP and carried a gun. Worst kind of hypocrite. Guns are okay for her but not for you and I. Ruling class vs. the rest of us. Guess who else carries a gun? Chuck Schumar of NYC [sp?] who is anti-gun; Michael Bloomberg who is surrounded by men with guns is anti-gun for us, it goes on and on. Tomorrow I go to my first concealed weapon training at 2pm. Can't wait.

Steel,

What gets me is that the president wants to the CDC to do research on how to prevent gun violence, but he wants to pass laws before he gets the research.  I would say that he is putting the cart before the horse but he isn't.  He could care less what the research says.  Once the law is passed it will never go away no matter what the research says.

He wants a gun grab and he doesn't care if it take a generation to get it.  If I can't transfer my weapons to anyone, even in my will, that's just a slow version of storming my house and grabbing my guns.

Deborah,

Enjoy yourself.  Let us know how it goes.

Two points: First, the definition of liberty is not to be ruled by people who are smarter than you. That's the definition of a parent and child.  I'm also not so sure that some of our leaders are smarter than us.  Who was it during a hearing that thought the military was going to capsize the island of Guam by putting to many people on the island?

Next, you don't have to carry all the time.  You just have to decide where the risk of something going wrong is great enough.  If you are going next door to have dinner with the family there, not much risk.  On the other hand, if you have to go to the south side of Chicago to pick up something that's a whole different story.
