Secretary of State's charity run by family member, political contacts donated to it

Old news, right?

Of course. It's such a breach of ethics that all these people who dealt with the Secretary donated to America's Promise.

Say what? Don't I mean the Clinton Foundation?

Clinton Foundation? Damn. You mean there's another Secretary of State who founded a charity contributed to by people dealing with the Secretary?

Yup. The Clinton Foundation is the second one I know of. The first is America's Promise, founded by Colin Powell and run by his wife, Alma, while he was in office. One of its big donors was Ken Lay. You remember him, right? He headed Enron.

Lay also donated to a literacy charity, but this one wasn't founded by the Secretary of State. No, this one was founded by the President's mother.

Ever hear about these?

Of course not. Why would you? Who would bother investigating such a thing?.

You have to be a Clinton to rate such an investigation.

She has a lot of nerve expecting to be treated like her predecessor.

Well, the term "soulless" might indicate a tolerance of religion on your part, so watch your ass around here, but I'm glad to have gotten my point across so clearly. From a communications standpoint, I'm very proud.

Of course, it's not all Tea Party Trump supporters. Let's just say that if Jill Stein had a charitable foundation, she'd be considered a philanthropist

which, to be clear about it, she would be

as was/is Powell and, of course, the Clintons.

I'm of the opinion that being blamed for philanthropy is a bad thing.

Unles like Bill Gates, you're giving away excess inventory and taking a retail tax deduction.  He's been trying to buy redemption for decade.

Comment by koshersalaami on August 31, 2016 at 4:45pm

Oh, I'd imagine he's given away more than excess inventory

I'd have to look at what he's done in more detail before I reach any conclusions

he's not all bad.  The best thing Gates has done is to attack malaria in the third world, he also hooked up with Warren Buffet to set up Giving

Im sure Gates is squeaky clean.

I think Trump had a charitable foundation for foreign models.   Helped lots of girls come to America and get jobs while paying just $1,600 for a bunkbed in NYC.  Where is the outrage?

I hope that modeling business of Trump's gets closer scrutiny. Is it in the msm at all?

I can't imagine anyone - politician or otherwise - being subjected to the level of - not just scrutiny but intense, antagonistic, continuing scrutiny - that the Clintons have been subjected to for almost 40 years and surviving in any form, let alone almost entirely unindicted. (That ridiculous impeachment should count.) They're either the smartest people in the world or the cleanest. Either way, might as well let them rule the whole damn thing.

Anyone know what was going on in the Bush foundation during those 2 presidencies?

So, the millions of people in dire need who have received medication from the Clinton Foundation simply don't matter as much as an election those against it are nearly sure to lose? Quite instructive to note the majority of those opposed to the GREAT WORKS of the Foundation claim to be Christians? Whaaaaaat?

Also, the damage one connected imbecile can do is phenomenal. Ken Lay and Enron's Shrub connections ended up driving energy costs in California to record levels, wasting BILLIONS of consumer non-discretionary income. A traitor who should have served more time for his crime.

I didn't know about these charities. Thanks for posting.

No problem. Until recently, I didn't know about Powell's either.
Comment by nerd cred on September 3, 2016 at 8:25am

And isn't that the problem? Every breath the Clintons have ever drawn seems to get the most intense scrutiny and negative interpretation and the msm seems to believe it's justified, even honorable blindly following the opposition's hints, clues and outright attacks while ignoring the exact same behavior in all others. e.g. what happened in the Bush foundation during those presidencies. But I repeat myself.
