Scotland Needs To Grow Up
I love Scotland and the Scottish people. They’re the most tolerant drivers one could ever wish for, never honking behind an alien motorist unaccustomed to the steep hills of Edinburgh. The Scottish landscape is gorgeous and the lakes, with or without the Monster, truly beautiful.
Although I consider American-born Bourbon a superior beverage, Scotch clearly has its followers. They also can’t help it if they’re rarely good looking, if their accent is irritating, and if bagpipes prompted the definition of music as an unpleasant sound produced on purpose.
However, of late, Scots are behaving like spoiled babies. Given a choice, they chose to stay in the U.K. The U.K. then chose to exit the E.U. The fact that minorities in both votes weren’t happy with the majority view is irrelevant. Baby cries to have more votes are unseemly. We can’t have repeated referenda until we have a result that the defeated can tolerate.
So, suck it up, Scotland.
