I realize that I should have posted this sooner.... didn't think about others who might not know how

anyway: First, find your Blog It will be under open.salon.com/blog/ “whatever name you first used when you opened your account”-eg in my case : open.salon.com/blog/token

anyway: First, find your Blog
It will be under open.salon.com/blog/ “whatever name you first used when you opened your account”-eg in my case : open.salon.com/blog/token

This brings you to your blog title page:

Each of your posts is listed with a short extract from the beginning of your essay.

Double click on the title bar link..... this will take you to your post

for speed, you may at this point press 'control S” ( control (lower left corner of keyboard)plus “S” ) which will bring up a “save “ option – I would urge you to create a folder on your desktop, or by preference, a thumb drive and label it “Salon Posts” or such like and save your posts therein- but at any rate, right click save and use the back arrow on your browser to go back to your blog title page, move down to the next title and repeat the process, until you reach the bottom of the page – where you will see a row of numbers, indicating your next set of blog posts.... select next and continue the process.

I will be gone this morning, but will be back after 1 pm – these instructions are for linux/ windows 2 button mouse and firefox- other browsers will be similar..... I will try to be here this afternoon to answer any questions I can

Yes, that is easy. I'm thinking about easy ways to publish those pages again here.

It seems that your blog doesn't exist on Open Salon. 'They' deleted it?

Yeah, I did that.  Tedious for a zillion posts, but at least it worked.

I hav brought all links to Open Office.

Is it necessary to put some kind of safety key on them, the file,on OpenOffice?

'I have brought all links to Open Office.

Which links do you mean?

Are you going to keep all your own  stuff of Open Salon in  your own computer? Or copying them here?

Comment by Heidi Banerjee on March 22, 2015 at 11:12am

I have copied all my links and have sent them to my alternate account. That was step one. Later on I got some advice from a friend who is studying electronics. He said that if I copied the http://links, they will always be accessible even after the web site is gone.

Comment by Heidi Banerjee on March 22, 2015 at 11:17am

I have  tried to take them off the PC but I am not too good at it. The only thing which I have taken off were photos, and that is a few years back.

Hannu, I suppose you are firm in computer techniques. I haven't done any of what HRdR  and Myriad have said. To me , they are "Böhmische Dörfer".
