The phrase 'white privelege' isn't broad or expansive enough to cover the full range of the social, political, economic, psychlogical, and emotional impact and consequences of centuries of race based subjugation and slavery.
I have asserted that white privilege is the manifestation and measure of what is commonly known as the 'American Dream', and to the extent that black people cannot share or participate in the exercise of said privilege, the much ballyhooed 'American Dream' comes to white people at the expense of black people as a consequence of the American system of exclusions and denials.
I have posted, reposted, and posted again what must seem to many here like volumes of material in support of the proposition that it falls to so-called progressive non-racist and anti-racist white folks to rise up and speak out against the perpetuation and perpetration of racism and racial bigotry.
There can be no other or alternative solution or resolution of the ptoblems and issues and threats to the country and civil society.
Many, if not most, here have agreed with that assertion.
So, here's the question:
When someone like Doc Vega authors and publishes a post entitled "The Myth of White Privilege "; in your own house, under your own roof:
Where are the sharp retorts and scathing rebuttals?
I don't mean snarky comments repleat with vile epithets and obscene invective. I am talking about well reasoned, well worded, well constructed, well articulated reactions and responses to a tome that is as dangerous as it is dumb.
Once again I am reminded of the words of MLK:
"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
