Russian Dirt on Clinton? ‘I Love It,’ Donald Trump Jr. Said.

The June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton.

The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

If the future president’s eldest son was surprised or disturbed by the provenance of the promised material — or the notion that it was part of a continuing effort by the Russian government to aid his father’s campaign — he gave no indication.

He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”

Four days later, after a flurry of emails, the intermediary wrote back, proposing a meeting in New York on Thursday with a “Russian government attorney.”

Donald Trump Jr. agreed, adding that he would most likely bring along “Paul Manafort (campaign boss)” and “my brother-in-law,” Jared Kushner, now one of the president’s closest White House advisers.

On June 9, the Russian lawyer was sitting in the younger Mr. Trump’s office on the 25th floor of Trump Tower, just one level below the office of the future president.

Over the last several days, The New York Times has disclosed the existence of the meeting, whom it involved and what it was about. The story has unfolded as The Times has been able to confirm details of the meetings.

If this was an FBI sting or a scenario orchestrated by a federal prosecutor, there would be sufficient information and evidence to establish propable cause for an indictment, arrest, arraignment and crininal proceedings against all of the individuals Trump, Jr identifies including himself.

Can he really be that stupid?

This may not be the 'smoking gun' re Trump campaign officials colluding with Russians to derail the Clinton camoaign in a direct effort to assist theTrump, Sr bid for election to the Presidency, but it is smoldering shell casings all over the floor at the feet of those who participated in "the meeting":
Kushner, Manifort, and Trump, Jr.

Whether this goes any further or any higher, my advice is don't let this be the distraction that results in taking our eyes off the ball. We must continue to:

He's not stupid, he's used to being immune from this like his father.

He may end up seeking immunity from prosecution.

The sad part about all of this is that they  may have already calculated that Trump can  use executive power to pardon or commute any sentence rendered by a federal court....

Their attitude is that not only are they immune but that simply no law of any stripe applies to them.

40% of the voting public agrees that he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave at noon, and it wouldn't matter to them...

I thought at the time he was exaggerating. I learned Election Day that he wasn't

Should special prosecutor grant immunity to general flynn neither Jared nor junior, nor the president for that matter is likely to be granted immunity by very many of u.s. metroplises' residents, legal residents or not.

Ron, if you'll permit me to help you with your accompanying photography. Perhaps a more mafia-esque image....
