New Ink

I titled this "New Ink", but its actually my only ink... there is no "Old Ink".  My daughter had a birthday recently and wanted a new tattoo (she has several) and I decided to get one too.  This is the only word I would ever even consider permanently attaching to my body. Its a word others have used to describe me, but for myself its not what I am, but what I strive to be. This is my reminder.

Despite a career that involved "ink-stained wretches" (as we used to call ourselves), I have no tats. That said, if you had to pick just one ... it's appropriate.

Makes complete sense as an aspiration/reminder. I doubt you'll ever regret that one.

I think that even if it weren't against Jewish custom/law to get one that I would. I wouldn’t trust myself to like it in ten years.

The basis for the Jewish law is that our bodies are on loan from God so we try not to alter them permanently. Of course now that I think about it I wonder how we justify nose jobs.

I could give a flying fuck about religion, customs, laws or beliefs...  I ain't ever getting a tat because it will be a frigid day in hell before I let somebody poke me repeatedly with a needle.  Just not happening!

That said, IF I ever go totally insane, I'd probably go with something like this:

tats are a great age reminder(like we need anudder one) some of mine are now just blue blobs....

I also agree with Amy as to yet another reason I won't get one.

How painful? Worth the pain?

Looks great!

It wasnt painful at all... which is good since i would feel silly if i sat there crying while getting a tattoo claiming i was fearless.

My son designed his ink. It's a wildly creative wolf. He and I have wagered a number of times where, had I lost, I'd have been inked. I am grateful my son did not win despite his artistry.
