Last week a fellow drove into the driveway and asked if we wanted to sell some of our palm trees.  My daughter said "No!"  but it is my house and I asked him "How much?"

"Let me measure them." he said, coming back with a quote of $300 for the almost twenty footer and $250 for the smaller one.

"What are you going to do with them?" I asked and learned they would go to the resorts on the other side of the island.  We had seen a flat bed truck go by a few days earlier with several palm trees on it.   Tourist food.

I said "Sure." and gave him my phone number.  Haven't heard anything yet but I have already spent the money many times over and planned what to do with the big holes their absence will create.

Great photograph!
They are your palm trees to do with as you please, of course. It wouldn't take long for something to take their place in that jungle environment.

Too bad somebody didn’t come along and buy those two palms off the White House lawn before their nuts fell and killed so many people after the fiasco elections of 2000.

Unfortunately,  like all palm clusters, there are keikis in that root ball from all the nuts dropped by those two now retired famous palms mutated to be inferior,  morally and ethically to palms not of their ilk.

How fun to have someone just show up and offer money for something, well, as long as it's something not crucial for hammocks or won't grow back or whatever... seems like things growing back is not a worry over your way!

You've really moved to another world, haven't you?

And I agree, cool photos! I've noticed when I've gone to the redwoods this year my photos of fern fronds resemble your palm frond photos... you're influencing my photography with yours  : )

Moki   I dont think you are talking about palm trees.

Hi Anna....so cool how we influence each other in cyberspace.  You have an affect on me too.  Your photos are always inspiring.  I like to play with my photos when I have time...crop and color.

I know I never would have put some of my photos up, if I hadn't been reading along and thinking to share.

True Z, not about palm trees in general, but specifically those palms like yours which bear seeds that can kill or maim falling from a palm's crown after twenty years of the parent's growth.
