Woo hoo!  I can do this.

Lorianne, has it really been since 2010?

Seven years, ...damn.

That's a good run, it really is.

...and now, it's winding down.

Some have gone to the face boo, some to the twitter, and the instagram, and other web blogs.  We have some in our email.  Some have died, and some have simply gone off line.  Hard to quit a drug like this, though.  Especially after 20 years.   I kinda like this nic name of Julie Johnson, made it up just for here.  This place, this spin off of the original Open Salon, that I was reading along with since it started, has been a good influence for me to make peace with my family.  For real.  So, for that I thank you all.  Mostly, it was Rosi's and Anna's, and Zanelle, Suiddly *wink*, Susan Creamer Joy, and tr ig, ...and Keiko.  Damn, I miss that girl.  I had such a girl crush on her.  She always laughed at my jokes, and made me laugh too.  The bantering, and the laughter is what I look for online.  One of my friends from the early chat days, is starting to 'make it' as a comedienne on the Canadian circuit.   I am so damn proud of her...

oh...okay, back to flouncing.  Sorry, I got side tracked.  Here's a picture of my shadow, sweeping up the detrimus of my life.

Has anybody heard from JMac?

I don't think so.

Sorry, I don't understand the open call. What are you suggesting we do?

Morning Julie - I'd rather stay and make a turn by adding something different and maybe sometimes, more creative, here.

I'm not flouncing, but if you are, it was fun while you joined in  : )

Other spots online are okay but nowhere is like here and I like that.

I'm not judging anyone who left, life goes on, but I for one, will be here as long as Lorianne will have me.

I will not be joining facebook. ha! nevah!!

Don't forget your flouncy skirt!!  : )

Well...for one thing, it's not really a good flounce, unless you don't really leave.  I thought you all would would think it was 'funny'.  *deep sighs*  Guess not.  Maybe I better 'really' flounce ;)

I am going to try posting more often myself. I was never much of a blogger. My world is small & not all that interesting & I learned a looooong time ago the futility of arguing politics on the internet (or most other places as well).

I've been visiting with the local homeless population, which weirdly inspires my writing... mostly poems. So maybe a poemlike substance or two will show up.

It seems to me if any of us want this place to become something other than what it is, then we need to try to contribute to that change. This place is a bit of a blank canvas. Our posts are the paints.

Today I am off on an adventure shopping at  Daiso with Thing2 & a friend. If you do not know what Daiso is, its the Japanese dollar store & it is a gloriously strange place. If you dont have one in your area,  I'm sad for you & if you do - go visit it!   If I remember, I will take pics and do a post maybe.

And yes, all flouncing requires the flounce dress...even for males!

Julie, stop that  : )

Post! post! post!

Photos with the flouncy skirt on!!

It's early, no caffeine yet, there was no 'humor' tag!  (ha! I live with people who rarely get my humor, don't feel bad....)

Lorianne, that's how I'm feeling. My world is small.

But, yeah.... I love the potential of here, I love the peeps, too, fun when someone shows up out of the blue like Pavanne did a couple weeks ago... Veronica has...

Daiso sounds fascinating - nothing like that around here.... gawd, sometimes I really miss the city life. sometimes.

I did see King Tut's exhibit is in L.A. all of 2018, I might need to take a long driiiive.... kind of a must-see, imho!!  and visit a Daiso with the rest of my budget  ; )

ha!  The 'humor' tag, I didn't even think of that...

Does Daiso have flounce dresses?

I'm afraid there's only ever been one photo of me online in a dress, and I only left it up for about ten minutes. Well, in drag, but now I don't remember what I wore or where I got it. I've got a beard, though very short these days, so I look pretty strange in drag. I did it to enter a contest to win my daughter Taylor Swift tickets many years ago. I didn't win the tickets.

Lorianne,

I don't know how comparatively big our worlds are. Speaking for myself, a big life is less of a prerequisite for blogging than a big mouth is.
