One Sentence: Why Biden Shouldn't Run

A Biden candidacy provides Trump virtually the only chance he has to win, a racist campaign against Barack Obama.

Biden should function as an elder statesman of the party and provide assistance and counsel in the process of passing the baton to the next generation...

One thing he can do is keep a watchful eye on the DNC leadership and ensure that they are functioning in a manner that is consistent with the notion that all comers have a fair chance at seeking and securing the nomination of the Democratic Party...

"Biden should function as an elder statesman of the party and provide assistance and counsel..."

No.  Biden should sit his pervy old ass down and STFU.  The only "watchful eye" should be to make sure "Creepy Uncle Joe" isn't allowed near young girls and women.

I also don't want someone with his horrendous record keeping an eye on the DNC because he might make them even worse (as hard as that is to imagine).

If he's incapable of keeping the DNC honest, then, I agree, he should go and sit in a corner with Hillary...

You guys make good points, he was a GREAT VP for our Black Hawaiian Fearless Leader, but that is herstory. Now, he is the asshole who harassed Anita Hill again. The problem? Look at the polls today, he is Number One. Lets keep a close eye on how that changes. We have some terrific Dem candidates, but, none of them has recognition or experience. The one who blows up the entire Social Media ecosystem and raises a billion dollars may be the winner- but who will that be? Not Kamala, I like her a lot, but a lot of people don't. Beto? Seems unlikely though the Millennials deserve their own president. Not Klobachar! Turns out she is just an old bitch and the female equivalent of a control freak male Senator. So, who? AOC is 6 years too young ...

amy, i agree with all you write above about Biden but for i disagree with the notion that his being a candidate would be a bad thing.  Whatever his blindside to or participation in DNC transgressions, i'd at rather see such manifestations out in the open on his campaigning  trail than just suspect, not see for sure his having the same unethical effect on the DNC primaries behind the curtains.  No matter how Joe B might present himself as a declared candidate for president should he, i don't think i'd be alone in neither being able to connect him to the best of the Obamas nor able to disconnect him from the worst of the Clintons.

If Biden wants to volunteer to be the spokesman for his expiring generation's ideological and ethical anomalies from his fascUSt$-enabling wing of this duopolistic hypocrUSy, he's unlikely to be convincing anyone of anything they don't already believe.

I agree with your premise Ron.

Coming up with someone else will be important, but to think there will be more than year yet to do it will hopefully enable the shrieking to be quieted so that viable candidacies can come forth to be heard.

If this keeps up the candidates will be crooning a Capella rather than gotcha-cha-cha debate.

Must I continually remind imaginary reader that V. Putin has a black belt? That D. Trump is our only President since D. Eisenhower not seen jogging?

The inspiration is that we have an intact landing craft of extremely bright honest contenders racing toward the beach.

Don't spit in the wind, guys. Need I add Scrap the Cap?

"If he's incapable of keeping the DNC honest..."

Commence the "going"!

DCCC Promises To Blacklist Firms That Work With Candidates Challenging Incumbents

(In other words, "You'll vote for who we tell you to (like Biden) or ELSE!"  = this is FAR from "honest", especially this early or during primaries.)

Although the DNC and the DCCC are separate entities with different missions, I get your point and wouldn't disagree...

Given this policy, their missions don’t look all that different. They’re on the path to alienating voters again.
