Home is the place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in. Robert Frost

A paradox here...

Hope and fear

presenting their evidence at the court of reason:

our terminally ill  matriarch is ready to come home from hospital they say,

preparations must be made they say...

the ball is rolling on that...

but it seems she has lost the will to live ...

she won't eat, will only sleep, curled up in her failing husk...

our only strategy: convince her she will come home,

that we are ready and impatient for it.

she may or may not come home.

if she does she may or may not last long.

but we want her clear on one thing: she will come home.

she is going home, that's what we want her to know.

if only to die.

and i guess we are ready for that.

tomorrow we expect to be told she is ready to come home

or she is on her way out.

the two need not be mutually exclusive.

she is going home, that's what we want her to know.

I'll be waiting, I'll be waiting on that shore
To hear cry for home
You won't have to worry anymore
When you hear cry for home

When you hear, hear the call
You won't have to fake at all
Hear cry for home

I'll be standing, I'll be standing within reach
When you hear, hear the call
I'll be waiting, I'll be waiting in the breach
For you, when you hear

When you hear, hear the call
You won't have to fake at all
Hear cry for home

When I listen, when I listen to the song
Well, it feels, it feels so free
And you tell me you will come and go with me
When you hear the cry for home

When you hear, hear the call
You won't have to think at all
Hear cry for home

When you hear, hear the call
You won't have to fake at all
Hear cry for home

When you hear, hear the call
You won't have to fake at all
Hear the cry for home

When you hear, hear the call
When you hear, hear the call
When you hear, hear the call

  • Peace and rest at length have come,
    All the day's long toil is past;
And each heart is whispering, "Home,
    Home at last!"

Death seems to be today's theme on OS.

I hope she chooses to return to her family.  It has to be better than a hospital bed.  You've been through this before, do your best to help the rest.  Patience and love.

the rest is imperative.

life is wearisome  and we must be given leave to rest, james.

Hoping for the best for you all.

From my experience - and I don't want to give advice but this is important -
don't make her wait while you get the house ready or a room or whatever.
