Wake up!

Serious question.

I don't tweet.  It seemed antithetical to real conversation (at 140 characters).

Nothing the numbskull in chief has done has destroyed that impression.

However, am I missing something?  Is this the vehicle for a movement?  Is it better than texting or just different?

Rodney i think so.

I have a twitter account and I haven't used it. I'm thinking its a popular venue and its very popularity is because of its immediacy.

I'm going to start using my account to support the kids now and whatever issues pop up. Its our voice. we should use it.

Turns out instead of a one on one meeting some of the #neveragain-s are going to be subjected to a "talking event" with the idiot. Not all the kids- no doubt theyll be handpicked.

I think without realizing it, he doing them a favor. Big rallys across the country in march.

And the right is starting to smear the kids.

Trial by fire. I hope theyre up to it because this is BIG money at stake.

Their lives vs money. As the eloquent emma gonzalez pointed out - right now their lives are worth x$. And with each mass shooting their worth diminishes.

FM, I've deleted coupla' comments of ten (10) hours ago as unjustified. Never my intent to distract from your heartfelt renderings.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather.

Rain set in here. Ground fog rolls the valleys. I close my eyes.

Just a kid, they published my first poem in 1962.  Something re: Ketchum, ID

Godspeed to the children . . .

Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry this has to be a fly-by instead of discussion. I posted my thoughts on KS but have to go to work...

I intend to write to the school and tell these kids I have been waiting for them for fifty years. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, we wrote letters yesterday, so I'll be doing that in today's and tomorrow's classes too, then will mail off a big sack on my employer's dime.

In the meantime, there's this:

I honestly don't understand how a human could be so utterly disgusting, to trivialize the anger and grief of young people who days ago witnessed and survived the mass murder of their school mates, as being the equivalent response to having to get a summer job. It's difficult to believe that this is even real, and not a Russian bot, but there's his official twitter certification badge.

On a happier note, there's Zanelle. Hi Zanelle!

HEY ZANELLE!!  woot!!

Thank you for your nice wishes.  Man o man, I woke up yesterday and first I felt - mmmmm...not sure but not myself and then it all got mean...body tired, sweating, hot and aching, deep coughing, couldn't keep my eyes open, couldn't even lift my arm to drink water or coffee!

NO COFFEE!  gah!  so I took meds, slept and sweated and now I feel sucked dry but on the mend.

SO I come back here to catch up, feeling a little weak but I'm mostly better and I read old men and their dreams of violent glory for these beautiful kids.   (did you watch them today?  god, I love them all, these young heroes!!)

sometimes people got to die - right?

I call BS!

now I go back to bed so I can make some noise and some paintings tomorrow.
