Moving on So Fast

Some move on so very fast

Convinced that love will never last

Yet the reason they fail

Is because they are quick to bail,

Like the wind on a sail boat mast

Being abandoned and left aghast

Still I remember all about you

Cold hearts never seem to have a clue,

You said you gave me chances

All I remember were the angry glances

When I never intended to hurt you

Seems my logic has drawn askew,

How can I keep from going back in time?

To stop the bloodletting of this rhyme

A dark journey in my time machine

Back to where the lies were unseen,

On the other side of heaven I emerge

Far from God’s graces only the pain I can’t purge

Memory like the wound that never heals

The pain you inflicted that you will never feel,

Some move on so very fast

Convinced that love will never last

Yet the reason they fail

Is because they are so quick to bail,

Turning tears of rain to frozen hail

Like a “Dear John” letter in the mail

Like a wayward sailor they set sail

The charred remains of another sad tale.
