Black on black oppression is certainly nothing new.

White people have been using black people to oppress, contain,
and control one another for centuries.

Quite often it was the black overseer who inflicted the most horrific beatings or other violent transgressions directed against other slaves:

Harriet Tubman has often been said to have been credited with freeing 100 slaves.

She was reported to have said that she could have freed 100 more "if they knew they were slaves".
