Megyn and Greta

Two gloriously intelligent journalists have recently jumped the Fox News ship. Greta took advantage of an “out” in her contract on account of her disaffection with the Fox News culture. Megyn’s reasons are less expressed, leading to the inescapable conclusion that money is at the root of her defection.

Both are lawyers and rose steadily in the Fox News ranks, first by sharing their show with another Foxite but graduating in good time to solo stardom.

I will miss Greta more. Her insights were less rapidly expressed, but at the end had greater staying power.

I’m very much interested in how Fox News handles Megyn’s departure. Greta’s exit was accompanied by a simple announcement followed by total radio silence. Because of Megyn’s more glamorous persona, there may be a temptation to make more of her exit. I hope the Fox News resists the temptation. Let NBC with its relatively paltry patronage do the honors.

I used to ascribe to Megyn Kelly early in her career she was making headway as a serious conservative commentator then as her audience grew she began selling out and letting her popularity go to her head. She was recently on C-span doing a very in depth interview and it was very personal. I am afraid that at NBC she will buckle under the pressure to partake in the typical liberal crap that they pander and she will be just collecting her paycheck rather being a responsible journalist. oh well. I never cared for Greta that much she could go either way. She never seemed too consistent.

Thanks for your excellent analysis of MK's career trajectory. The good news is that no matter what happens at NBC, very few will notice or credit.
