Last Saturday I met a big sorrel horse named Roy. "Roy" is apparently a temporary name, his owner says he hasn't officially named him yet,  but Roy does seem to fit him.  He's a Belgian/TB mix.  And if your not familiar, the Belgian is a huge draft horse.  Roy is built like a small Belgian at 16 hands and probably 1400 lbs. He's a big boy. The Thoroughbred is a tall, slender breed and opposite of a Belgian in temperament. It seems to be a nice mix. He's surprisingly athletic with a willing and relaxed disposition. His owner has hunted with him for several seasons I think. The hunt season starts in late October. Foxes will be harmed I fear. I love the running and jumping, but blood sport has never been my thing.  I may be mortified.

I took these pictures tonight. Here he is after much labor in brushing.

His head is so huge, I couldn't get it all in a picture.

Happy trails.

A chance meeting with perfect timing. This horse is a good project for me. Super pumped!

You remind me of my daughter.

She began her horse loving day.

I brought Home a Shetland pony.

That pony had a fallen arched back.

The first pony was forty-five years old.

That pony was great fun until she died,

and I had to bury spotted ` Polka Dot.

That hole was not for a white mouse.

Shoebox size holes don't take all day.

Her last horse was a Tennessee Walker.

She loved when `Pegasus reared up,

and tried to buck her off. O, wild.

She's stuck with a indolent brat.

It's the facts. His dad had cash,

bought him toys, and beat him.

 can usually tolerate big babies.

His wealthy parents screwed a

human up. Poor my daughter.

I observed him in my Home

foe five months. He can't

carry on a conversation.

I wish my daughter

wed` Mr. Ed, the

talking Horse.

Roy is beautiful. I loved horses my whole life, but my mother wouldn't let me ride. I used to sneak down to the riding stables and brush them. When my daughter wanted to ride, I was thrilled. Horses heal...

jmac, horses are cool, they take you as you are and can smell a fake from a mile away.

Thanks Kai!

Hi Art, I started with a Shetland pony named Sugar, she was not sweet! Then I had a pinto Welsh gelding named Buck. He liked to buck and run. He ran away with me all the time. I learned how to bail off a horse with those two. I'm sorry about our daughter's husband. Keep the hope.

Hi Joan, horses do heal. I'm glad you've had them in your life. They are magical.
