I really wish that I was H.L. Mencken, because only he would be capable of heaping enough scorn on our modern day Republicans!  I'm left with flailing my hands all over the place, having emotional vapor lock, and spewing random adjectives like "pusillanimous," "sadistic," "butt fuck ignorant," and a few other choice words. Unfortunately none of them do justice to describing the mindset of the modern GOPster.

And so imagine my great surprise in looking at that rare piece of CNN, where Congressman Mark "Appalachian Trail" Sanford talks about "demons from the White House" that have debauched civic discourse in South Carolina. Sanford's words have to be the biggest brick falling off the formidable wall of support that President Cheeto has held in Congress and elsewhere. All of this comes at the heels of the GOP blame game of the day line, where the Sandernista shooter ventilates the Republican Whip. And we are told that all of the nation's sins fall on those filthy leftists -- who are the sole inciters of violence and mayhem in America. Ignore the fact that 99% of the donations to the National Rifle Association last year came from Republicans!  But I digress.

For those not versed on insider GOP baseball, Sanford's turn on Trump is important because South Carolina is to the GOP what California is to the Democrats.  Remember that the Civil War started in Charleston. South Carolina is the most ideologically pure Republican stronghold on the earth. So when a cancer cell of common sense breaks out in this territory, your heart has cancer. One can only hope that the cancer of common sense spreads as rapidly as it possibly can until these vile species of Republican extremism meet their happy reward.

News is not so good for the Trumpster lately. Jeffy Sessions made the Senate look like monkeys, but can you spell P-E-R-J-U-R-Y? The Newsmax leak from the White House that T-Rex was considering firing Robert Mueller lead to widespread choking sounds in the Republican cloakrooms. Nothing like more relentless investigations leading God knows where. And then there is the lawsuit filed by 195 Democratic congressmen and senators, which at the very least will pry out all of the available Trump Form 1040s, etc. into the light. That alone could be the nail that goes through Dracula's heart.  SAD!

I believe that tax forms, if rolled up tightly enough and glued together so that it could be sharpened on one end would do the job!

Yep, theoretically that might work.   Maybe Rosie could sneak up on him:

Adjectives won't do it. This morning on Terry Gross I heard a bit of an interview with Biden. His take on this Russian thing is way interesting. I'm beginning to understand what we missed.

I think Sanford's turnaround is big. Not only is he smart, but he's one of the most opportunistic of all Congressmen.
