It's okay here but I'm a bitisolated, being about two miles from Siem Reap. I rid my bicycle in to town every three days or so and go to a big bustling market where I buy my favorite vegetables: potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and beans. i buy duck eggs for about a dime each. It all comes o about $4. They take US dollars here. I rent a big house for$200./month. Utilities are about $24. That's because I run an air conditioner sometimes. Cable TV is $2.50/ mo. I live in a little compound of about five houses. There is a concrete wall around it with barbed wire on top. The neighbors are all very friendly. Two families are French speaking Khmer.
I spent the last month writing a book. "The Mirror Game". It is my first attempt at a novel. I'm pleased with it, though it still needs some editing. You can Google wwwbasiljuice.com or go to wordpress first. I'm not up to speed on computer technology (or blogging).
You can't beat my situation here, for allowing one to write without distractions. There are cows and waterbuffalow grazing outside my window and geckos on the walls. That's about it.
