I'd put out info on Pagan lists, hoping that someone out there would buy my place, and take care of its *sacred sites* and all.  I'd just about given up and was ready to sell to a cowan/muggle.  A farewell afternoon was arranged and invitations sent out to a lot of the people who regularly came here...and just days ahead of time a Pagan appeared from the blue, stepped in, stepped up, stepped out - so the event became Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again.

The new owner is going to keep up the sites - barn-temple, stage, firepit, ancestors' shrine, chakra walk, ritual grove - and continue holding InFest on the Labor Day weekend.

Here is the new owner with my daughter and I signing the handwritten offer to purchase before witnesses.  (Our stuffy lawyers in their dusty offices are dealing with the official paperwork.)

After which everyone danced a joyful maypole.

My long-time friend, travel companion and coven-mate, Alex, presented me with a thank-you card.

A close-up of the card.  He used a picture of me indulging in my favorite activity - eating.

Close-up of my daughter in full regalia.  Her chief sorrow about leaving here and going to more civilized surroundings is that there will probably be no more opportunities to dress up again.

The afternoon concluded with people jumping the fire - just a little one, in the cauldron.  And, of course, feasting!

Life can be sad, life can be happy.  Watching out not to singe any hair while fire-jumping - that's the important thing.

It looks like fun! And a perfect weather day. I'm glad it's being passed along to someone who will keep up the sites.

Phyllis, I am so RELIEVED.  I had despaired of getting a suitable buyer...  (Some days, ANY buyer...)

Joan - worked out, and was fun.

Most excellent post... hope you have the chance to consecrate more sites around your new digs... R&L ;-)

I don't think so, JMac.  I'll be living on a lot in town...and possibly not establishing relationships with local Pagans.  Well, okay, maybe a little backyard shrine.  (Lots of Buddhas in yards in B.C.)

This is great, Myriad.  Thank you for enlarging my perspective.
