Lakhdar Brahimi offers thoughts on Syria

I first found this link a few days ago and have watched it several times.

A little while ago I watched as it played on Al Jazeera.  It runs for about 25 minutes.

I have no words to paraphrase more clearly what he offers here than if I simply let him offer his words himself, but ...

I keep seeing the eyes of terrified children

who may never again know ... or believe in ... home ...

who feel abandoned ... by a world ...

who feel abandoned ... by their own ...

and so ... I listen ...

and as I listen ...

to the calm ... and to the care ...

of Brahimi's voice ...

always I want ...

to hold the hand ...

and tend the heart ...

of Syria's ... child ...

I offer his words to those who might not hear them on their own.

Sigh.

Howdy.

Blessed.

`

You/other humans too ...

Inform us there are beings.

Unseen, and potent forces.

Principalities. Higher Good.

Higher beings - We Mortals.

We conceive - We Be Here.

I am Glad I Live this Time.

As in, Plato and Dear Folk,

as Ay,  Plato Love Socrates,

Platonic, and We Love Here.

Thanks. You as a Higher One.

A Minister. as an angelic force.

Principled. Care. Courage. Love.

`

Thanks that You are Here. Alive.

I was tempted to watch ducks.

The Lake is a spot to reflect.

Then, You lure me to read.

Dear Art ...

as I was writing ... I was thinking of Brahimi's face ... his eyes ... his voice ... his ability to listen ... to so many voices speaking for so many reasons and in so many ways ... his ability to listen ... his ability to hear ...

I don't know if he is a grandfather ... but elder statesman that he is ... he is ... for me ...

would that these children might know ... how deeply he cares ... for them ...

I do know ... that you ... are ... a grandfather ...

a loving smiling sparkling doting ... grandfather ...

and as I read your words here ...

I think of your lake ...

a spot to reflect ...

where ducks may be found ...

and watched ...

where ...

and I wish that I could give each child ... who suffers so ...

an hour in your company ...

where home might be remembered ...

and believed ...

Dear Art ... I wanted your words ... to stand ... on their own ... as they are ... a while ... and so I waited to respond ...

I hear  ... all your words ... all ...

and yet ... today ... second anniversary ... of all that is ... now ... in Syria ...

I find it hard ... to find air to breathe ... as I think of them ... as I think of Syria's children ...

all who love them ... all who wish ... as we wish ...

all who hope ... as we hope ...

as I listened to Anita McNaught sit with, question, find connection with ... Lakhdar Brahimi  ...

I knew that ... even as I have followed so closely from here ... I didn't understand the nod they shared ...

"children writing on a wall" ... as it all began ...

children ... wanting peace ... freedom ...

underneath ... wanting joy ...

they are the ones I hold ...

if only they ... could know ...

if only they could know how closely a world watches ... hopes ... for them ...

if only ...

if only these children ... cold and scattered as they are ... could know all who watch with them ...

could know all  who hope ... for them ...

could feel a ladder ... lifting near them ... for wondering ... wandering ... searching ... eyes ...

for eyes willing ... to look up ...

to believe ... in wonder ... to dare ... still ... to hope ...

blessed are the grandfathers ...

blessed are ... the bakers ... of bread ...

blessed are those  ... who paint the ladder ...

who see the trees ...

who understand ... the climb ...

rung ... by rung ...

who understand ... the ... step by step ...

who understand the heart ... the soul ...

that breathe ... that love ... that live ...

blessed are ... the little ones ...

and blessed are ... their hopes ...

Child ... understands ...

how I know ... that this ... is  ... so ...

Your beautiful, caring heart, anna1.....

I thought I'd adopt children from the foster system, went through all the classes, jumped the hoops, 2 years ago the bottom fell out for us, the Recession dashed our finances and our chances for now....and all I seem to think of is sad, terrified children I've let down.....so....I'm sorry if my heart is full with America's lost children....those in Syria need our attention, our actions, our hearts, too....

always, JT, the children  ... call ... to us ...

I keep now seeing tents ... without heat ... without enough ...

and who is it ... who can ... who will ... care ... even when ... we care ...

thinking of ladders here ...

of eyes  ...

willing to wonder ... willing to dare ...

willing to ... look ... up ...

willing to wait while an illustrator ...

finds a way ...

to help a wondering child ...

to dream ...
