Today would have been Puff's 23 birthday. As I was looking through the pictures on my computer, though, I came across this picture of Adso & Medjet as kittens and it made me laugh.Puff will be forever missed. Strangely, though, I keep seeing her in Medjet so, is she really gone? There was a month between Puff's passing and Medjet's birth, after all. And I see my dog Lance in Adso, except Adso licks me more than Lance did.

Awww..... Puff would have been 23?? How old was she when she died? I remember she really was advanced age for a cat. Of course she'll be missed forever but how cool to see again the two 'new' kitties when they were kittens. Beautiful cats.

Over the years I've grown to love dogs, we have two, now, but my internal being is aligned as a cat person, we have two of them, too. Two girls who bicker and bitch and then curl up and sleep side by side, then walk all over me at night in attempts to snuggle closer.... sigh.... I let them. The one dog faithfully at the side of the bed on her bed... the other one, the tiny one, deep under the covers of youngest's bed. What will that tiny dog do when youngest moves up to Portland in a couple weeks???  The current animal situation over here  : )  Glad you posted this pic!

A soft pet thread! Now you're talking :)

Phyllis your baby kitties are tres cute! Everything is cuter when it’s sleeping.

Anna those sound like cozy sleeping arrangements, although some potential for tripping over someone in the dark and pillow barfing.

Fortunately my soft pet never pillow barfs, has lived with me since 1991. Miss Franny. She says two things: 'I’m a pretty girl' and 'I’m a pretty pretty girl', plus makes many lovely bird chirpy sounds in addition to having a fierce squawk. Her cage is in the studio and she keeps me company while I work. If I’ve displeased her, I seldom know why, yet she lets me know by giving me the stink eye and throwing balls of poopy newspaper that she carefully wads up with her beak then tosses at me–one time into my tea.

She is in fact a he. I got her when she was 6 weeks old, and it isn’t possible to sex birds at that age. The sales guy assured me she was a she, so that’s how we started out and why we learned to say I’m a pretty girl. When she was a couple of years old, she began to pleasure herself in her water cup. I’d politely avert my eyes, but she started to get on the water cup or rub her perch many times a day, and always when company came over. Eventually, I met someone who knew lots about cockatiels who told me from her markings that Franny was a he. This explained a lot. By then, we had bonded though and our conversations were always about pretty girls, so here we are.

She is growing old though, I can tell, at age 26. She stumbles in the morning like she has arthritis and she doesn’t like to get out of her cage anymore. She’s started to sleep on the bottom of her cage in some soft corn cobs I put there instead of on her perch, I suspect she’s fallen off it while sleeping. She also needs a nap in the afternoon. I love her like other people love dogs and dread the day I lose her.

Here she is. Pretty girl isn't she?

Very pretty girl! Such great coloring ~ and dang, you two've been friends for ages  : )  How cool.

Pillow barfing?

As in a cat doing such hideousness?

Agghh, that's never happened and they'd *better not.*  These cats don't barf, so far, or they don't inside, anyway.... eewwww, that would really suck to wake up to!!  HA!

Okay, back to work.

Yes. Former boyfriend's kitty, an inveterate barfer. Many times walking barefoot to the bathroom at night and suddenly slipping. I'll spare you. Back to work for me too. Fun today, although not so much at the beginning.

Awwwwww KITTENS! We have two cats, Moonpie and Smudgie. Moonpie hardly ever barfs, but Smudgie often does, though never on my pillow. Moonpie did barf on my bed once and I sat on it. I still love him.

Such a nice gross read of comments while sipping tea.... ha!

Stepping in it? Sat in it?  Oh, I am *so* sorry to read this - while SO glad my cats haven't pulled this kind of thing, ever, over here.

I must have them properly scared of me (which is a ludicrous statement, but sounds good  ; )).

Mornin' ~

Good, okay, extremely exciting, news here - the mountains are visible again this morning! The over three weeks of sometimes heavy smoke has retreated for the moment! Even though the country's largest current wildfire is not contained or containable and there's no rain in sight. I can walk the dogs today! Woohoo! (August in Oregon/PacNW sucks)
