Keith Olbermann Takes On VP Pence, Twice

We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must - at that moment - become the center of the universe.

Well said Ron.  Currently I have put myself in jeopardy because I have stood up to the New York Office of Mental Health and helped a young black brother who was not homocidal, suicidal or psychotic or even mildly depressive or delusional from being committed to a state institution because administration feared him and feared the administration of his county and generally just hated his non-compliance- he distrusted OMH and did not take their drugs- yet he showed up to all the groups while incarcerated...He was the most vulnerable of society- no family, no friends save for those who might prey upon him to use him for his disability benefits reentering society as a violent, exfelon...He returned to a city that ranks as the poorest for poc to be in for redlining has all but assured industrial cities in us are segregated...So i'm on administrative leave (thus my inordinate amount of downtime affords me the opportunity to get on our salon).  Eventually they will force me to resign and I will need to work in a place that understands the dynamics of the sacrosanct hegemony of the state.  All around me at work were sheep- engaged in group think- never questioning authority let alone standing up to authority's abuses. I take a great risk exposing myself here as I know they are trolling to get information on me- and I do not use a screen name.  I feel it important people know who I am and can verify my existence- as I have radical views- tempered by a spirituality that is my saving grace...Thank you for your wisdom and work...
