While I wish this were a celebration of April Fool's Day, alas it is all too true.  A comment summation inspired by Ron Powell's post, Two Word Question For A Friday Night: WHO'S NEXT?

I answer your question with another: Who knows and who cares?  I've always been something of a misanthrope and I've been growing grumpy in my old age.  2016 just exacerbated my condition, I'll have to add that for the sake of our children and grandchildren that I do hope that the Beast "45" will not do too much damage.  As you know we've elected and been through worse although it would be ironic if one or more of his weasel minions caused his downfall.

To which Ron replied with another comment:  "...  As you know we've elected and been through worse."  I'm 70 years old and I can't recall anything worse than the shit we have in the White House now.

I took over an hour to reply with this, I have a headache and just lost my comment in response to your comment, so I'll just list a few of the worst:

Andrew Jackson - the first American Populist nightmare who orchestrated of The Trail of Tears.

Ulysses S. Grant - the most corrupt administrations in the history of the office of POTUS, genocide of American Indians, abandoned the federal government's enforcement of the civil rights of freed slaves in the South.

William McKinley - committed US Marines to the subjugation of our "Little Brown Brothers" in the US Colonial Territory of the Philippines, our first Vietnam.

Franklin D. Roosevelt - manipulated intelligence to provoke the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and restricted immigration of Jewish refugees fleeing the Holocaust in Germany and Europe.

Harry S. Truman - authorized hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths by fire bombing Tokyo and first and only use of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Dwight D. Eisenhower - who before he was inaugurated accepted a request from the British government to restore the Shah (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) to power. He then authorized the Central Intelligence Agency to overthrow democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh for strategic control over Iranian oil by U.S. and British companies.  Authorized multiple other coups and use of CIA and US troops from Guatemala to Lebanon to Vietnam to Cuba.

John F. Kennedy - began his administration with the Bay of Pigs Fiasco which he inherited from Eisenhower and ended it with the CIA orchestrated overthrow and assassination of South Vietnam President Ngo Dinh Diem, also inherited from Eisenhower.

Lyndon B. Johnson - Used the totally bogus Gulf of Tonkin incident to justify the escalation of US troops in Vietnam from 12,000 advisors to over 500,000 combat and support personnel, enriching himself and his family by awarding lucrative construction contracts to Brown and Root.

Richard Nixon - Pathological liar and paranoid criminal sack of shit who was on his way to impeachment and resigned in disgrace before he was convicted.

Gerald Ford - our only un-elected president who issued Proclamation 4311, granting Nixon a full and unconditional pardon for any crimes he might have committed against the United States while President.  Things went downhill from there.

Jimmy Carter - a one-term hypocrite, liar and boob.

Ronald Reagan - another delusional, neo-fascist incompetent boob who served out his last term under the shadow of the Iran-Contra Affair and pronounced effects of dementia.

Bill Clinton - a delusional pervert and JFK wannabe, who couldn't keep his pecker in his pants and was impeached by incompetent overreaching House Republicans for lying under oath. He lucked out when the Senate refused to convict: Only 50 senators voted to remove Clinton on the obstruction of justice charge and 45 voted to remove him on the perjury charge.

George W. Bush - another incompetent boob who ignored intelligence reports that may have prevented the 9-11 and then used manufactured false intelligence to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.

So far in raw terms of body bags and damage to the US economy, the Beast "45" is a slacker by comparison, but he most certainly leads the pack in terms of blatant mendacity.  He's been in office less than 100 days and he's just getting his feet on the ground so over the next four more years he could really screw things up to claim the title of the most amoral, corrupt and incompetent President in the History of the USA.

Oh I forgot Operation Wetback under Eisenhower which led to the deportation of at least one million immigrants from their homes, workplaces, and communities, and the illegal deportation of an unknown number of U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.  Sound familiar?

You left out Daddy Bush's war crimes & corruption and BarryO's war crimes and "murder by drone" programs.

Aside from Roosevelt's attempt to pack the Supreme Court, I'm not sure I can think of other examples of Presidents who screwed up the institution of the Presidency and even Federal Government to this extent.

Amy, my omissions were deliberate.  I also left out most of the Presidents elected in the 19th Century, as well as Eisenhower's deliberate choice to withhold food and medical care from German POW's in 1945-46.   Harding, Coolidge and Hoover were total fuck ups.  Hoover was the worst, when in 1932, he ordered the army to evict the Bonus Army protestors from Washington.  Led by Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton , the action was a violation of constitutional law on many levels primarily with regard to Posse Comitatus Act.

Both Daddy Bush and Barry O committed their fair share of atrocities, but history ain't clean or pretty especially when you operate in a swamp - which was the only thing that the Beast "45" got right in 2016.

FM, already his base is starting to erode.  If he fucks up on some grand criminal scale, he may go down in history as the only POTUS to be impeached and convicted.

Bravo for your succinct yet condensed list of anti-accolades. Let us not forget that with the advent of social media; we citizens are not only privy of current President's ill-will motivations - we chew on it & spit it out.  R&L

Hey Kosh, even the greatest President Abraham Lincoln pushed the envelope when he famously ignored Chief Justice Roger B. Taney's order finding unconstitutional Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus rights in 1861, early in the Civil War.  Thanks for reading and commenting, one and all.

Marilyn, from his twitter account it appears that the Beast "45" may be feeling trapped by his accidental responsibilities as POTUS and is trying to chew off his leg to make an escape.  Thanks for commenting.

My reply to your comment on my thread:

"@JMac; None of the individuals you list were willing to sell the American political and government systems out to an international adversary while attacking the principles and institutions upon which the country is founded and based.....

Trump is a demented and incompetent buffoon. He has supporters and followers who are willing to follow him all the way down the road to fascism....

Most, if not all,  of the presidents you list have redeeming qualities beginning with a belief in, and an  understanding of, the American political and govermental construct and systems.

Trump is bereft of virtually all that would qualify an individual to be President of the United States..."

I stand by it

BTW, The  Nihilism you express here is unbecoming....

Nihilism in the historical context may be defined or characterized as follows:

"...The doctrine of an extreme Russian revolutionary party(Nihilist) c.1900, which found nothing to approve of in the established social (and political)order.".
