I got nuthin'
...and neither do neo-fascists....
I kinda hoped that was what you were gonna say. But I'm not all that excited about some on the other end of the spectrum either. Recently, I ran into a young lady from the Far Left, who expressed her enthusiasm for a revolution, and I replied, quoting a 20th Century sage, "We'd all like to see the plan". Of course, she had no plan.
While I'm no apologist for the status quo, the idea that we should simply tear down democratic institutions 240 years or so in the making strikes me as infantile and dangerous. That notion begs the question, and replace it with what? Trumpistan, where everything is a monetary transaction utterly devoid of morality? We've worked long and hard to get two steps beyond that ... beyond the Law of the Tooth and the Claw. and I have no use for anyone on either side who thinks we oughta return to some imagined perfect past or roll the dice on an imagined perfect future.
My take? Let's fix what ain't working, and defend to the death what is working.
Yup. When you get past a certain Left point, it becomes 100% about the What and 0% about the How, a state which enables a great deal of self-righteousness coupled with utter and complete irresponsibility.
These are the Greens and some others like them.
Many on the Far Left sync w the Far Right: they want my family dead; we're Jews.
I have neither over for dinner.
Thanks, folks. And yes, I quite agree that the ultras on both sides are dangerous. I'm not talking conservative vs socialist (hell, I'm pretty conservative when it comes to fiscal policy and a lefty on social issues), but the wack-jobs on the fringes who want to burn it all down. We have them here, too.
.......damn hippy commies always stirring up shit that's what my Dad always said. I believe they are just fucking idiots with no plan but to disrupt until they become a pariah and change their name. The fringes have always been there but for the last two years they had a cheerleader in the fake potus and now all their walls are splintering. We have lost the ability to be civil in society people are detached or attached to their cell phones. I'm like my Dad, liked it better when we had rotary phones and no answering machines or computers. Of course that's screwed now and my wife knows where I am 24/7 it's scary..........older/exasperated
I'll never give up my flip phone
